According to his racerxonline nike 6.0 interview. Think he'll get it? As long as he stays healthy I think he could get that record.

He will do it. He will have 40 before this season is over. RC has 43 and it took him 8 seasons in SX to do it. Look at it this way. James has sat out about a season and a half with injury since he moved up to the big bikes. So by the end of this season he will have 40 SX wins in about 3.5 seasons worth actually racing.

to even be in the discussion is pretty impressive. I think he could do it, but it's still a long shot IMO. Lot of variables.

Mainly, he has to stay in SX long enough and stay healthy. I don't see anyone seriously challenging his speed/ability to win for some time (if ever)

The potential is there as long as time is on his side. But no one can predict life altering injuries. One mistake and the chance of getting hurt is pretty good.
