Me and some friends are heading to Clearwater Florida. We will be arriving on Wed Jan 6th and leaving late Sat Jan 9th. I would like to get some advice on tracks to go to. We are not so much interested in racing just open practice. We have 4 days of riding.

Assuming 1 track per day, what are "the" 4 tracks to go?

Thanks in advance
Derrin

If you're driving down, stop by Mill Creek MX in Pell City, Alabama and Monster Mountain in Tallassee, AL.

doublezero - that map of FLA tracks is perfect!

rallendude - we never considered stopping at other tracks on the way down. What is the weather like in Alabama in January?

Sorry to get off-topic in this thread but,

What software did you use to create that track map with the push pins? Did you by any chance have all of the addresses in an Excel Spreadsheet and then just do some type of merge to have them pop up like that? I need something like that for a work project.

Thanks

I used photoshop. Just manipulated and placed the images where I needed to. Used mapping in go-live for the links.

One track off I-95 is Bostwick Creek (not on map) one of the best in the state. Near St. Augustine.

We drive down to Monster Mountain and Mill Creek a few times a winter. From Big Rapids Michigan we can leave around 5pm and drive straight through and be riding by 9am. Weather is usually mid 50,s or warmer. Perfect since our northern bodies have already adapted to the frigid Michigan temps.

Quick Trak is working on a new track as we speak right now.
Its just a few miles down from where the old track use to be.
So if your in Clearwater, driver your happy ass over to Lakeland.

Used to make that trip all the time..
Stopy by Dade City if its open, fun sand like back home and they ride at night sometimes so you can enjoy the sun during the day if you want.
Waldo MX is a great track kind of on your way down there..
Hard Rock has really gone down hill but its open all the time and they have a bunch of different tracks to ride.
Bithlo is over by Orlando and is a fun track as well. Haven't been to any others besides Gatorback but those were the ones I used to hit.

Monster Mountain and Mill Creek are awesome, definately consider going to Alabama for a few days..

Im hoping to cruise down to albany myself this winter, depends on if the wrist is ready by then, plate and 4 screws come out in less than a month! that will make 7months of zero wrist bending

Like said above, the temps will usually be somewhere around 50-55 degrees for the high. A buddy of mine rode nearly every weekend there wasn't rain last winter. It was mild.

Call the tracks ahead of time and they will usually let you ride on a week day. Mill Creek might even be practicing on Thursday nights then if it's convenient for your travel.

Matt,

Place looks awesome. Will you be open all winter as long as weather is decent ?

Also looks like you have a non member rate now so that is awesome.

We will be coming south Dec 26th so we will have this track on our list.

Yep, we plan to be open as much as possible....weather permitting. It has been pretty shitty down here the last couple of weeks, but we opened Sunday when others cancelled and the track wasn't bad and turned out to be good after an hour or so.

We do have the non-member price now, so anyone who wants to stop by, just hit me up and if we aren't planning to be open that day...we will work something out if possible.

Thanks everyone for the stellar advice

I thought this thread would help make our decisions regarding which tracks to go to easier. However, it only seems more difficult by the number of excellent tracks in the area.

I think we are going to Dade City for sure.

After seeing those pics of AMP MX, I think a little detour on the way is warranted. Those pics made me feel warm and fuzzy all over! They scratched me right where I itch.

Thanks everyone for the great advice.

By the way it is 17 degrees right now in Michigan
