OK......what exactly are we looking at here? A loud flying sign? What does a pool table have to do with it? Is the man stuck aloft until it runs out of fuel?

Local farmer Shu Mansheng starts the engines of his self-designed and homemade flying device before a test flight in front of his house in Dashu village on the outskirts of Wuhan, Hubei province, on September 21, 2011. The round steel flying device, which cost more than 20,000 yuan ($3,135), is the fifth model made by Shu, a junior middle school graduate. It measures around 5.5 meters (18 feet) in diameter, and is powered by eight motorcycle engines. Shu managed to hover for 10 seconds at about 1 meter (3.3 feet) above ground during a recent test flight. (Reuters/Stringer) #

OK, but how does he start the outer ring of motors??? Would be cool if he tied them all together with some belts, or something. Also, he needs to turn the cyl. heads 90 deg. so they are facing the direction of prop wash, or it'll most likely seize...

Hope he doesn't ever have to bale out; maybe there's a trap door for the . . . err . . . pilot.

that silk barrier around him should be sufficient when one of those props get airborne...

FTE, remember when Bob Hannah almost cut his finger off starting one of his model planes? Might of even cost him to miss an outdoor?

OK. Here is, apparently, an earlier model (before the BNG). Still uses the pool table (visible briefly about 3/4 way through).

From one extreme to the another - a couple of days ago China successfully launched a second unmanned rocket into orbit as part of its space station program. Seriously, these guys are poised to become the 'Americans' of the 21st Century - educated, rich, and optimistic.

Finally can they spy on American soil with their own satellite. Maybe steal some flying saucer ideas and copy like they always have done with all western technology. Always.

Congratulations to China for doing something the Russians and Americans did via calculations on slide rules in the 50's and 60's.

Careful, Big, or people will start to think you're unaware of the many things the West copied from the East...
