BTW I have a toy hauler for sale

Toy hauler is for sale because we moved up. The pic with the bicycles is the fun mover after putting aluminum cabinets in.

Totally! I own a Tacoma and can't imagine towing a loaded down 18' trailer with it.

3 straps is all you need. Nothing in front of the front wheel. Put the tie down points even with the front axle. The rear shocks are blown out so I added a 4th strap over the rear tire. The strap from the footpeg/frame to the rear is important.

You make a very good point about the anchors being even with the axle. A couple more inches is okay(that's what she said) but too far forward has the rear end flopping all over. Not enough pull down.
I use pingles in my toyhauler. With the carpet down you can't really tell they are there and it's only a couple screw holes per mount.
I use one of these in my enclosed trailers.

I think it will be an interesting experience. Depends on the tow rating of the truck.

I know everyone does, but I don't like the idea of strapping to the footpegs. Would this work as well with a strap around the frame near the footpegs or do you need the "outrigger" stability of the pegs?

Tie downs? Pffftttt. 6x12 enclosed V-nose ( actually less than 6 foot interior), fits four bikes easily with room for a small workbench, tool chest, ez up, gear....

The V6 Tacoma with the tow package are rated to 6800lbs. It tows the camper fine (picked it up on Saturday),but I can for sure feel it back there. Plus it drops my mpg down to around 10, but I'm not too concerned about that.

I would like to put the e-track system so I could keep the bike on the stand (I use this setup in my current cargo trailer), but I don't want to drill into the floor. I mostly was wondering how people are setting things up inside to haul the bikes and from the pictures posed, I have some good ideas.

An upgraded 3.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine is a highlight of the new Tacoma and employs direct and port fuel injection to shell out an impressive 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. When properly equipped with the available V-6 Tow Package, the new Toyota Tacoma increases its maximum towing capacity to a Herculean 6,800 pounds. With the Tow Package, the Toyota Tacoma adds a Class-IV towing receiver, a transmission cooler, engine oil cooler, power steering cooler, a heavy-duty 130-amp alternator, a 4- and 7-pin connector with converter and a Trailer Sway Control feature.

I posted the wooden tire chock thing earlier in this post. Thought I'd post up the garage area complete:

Thanks for the update. Give us another once it's loaded down with bikes, gear, food, and xtra crap....
In So cal, there are tons of grades / elevation changes, especially on way to most tracks for me. That's where I think the big test would be, loaded down.

I considered those but drilling into the floor and having those to trip over was a deal breaker for me. When I get to the camp site or track I didn't want to have anything sticking up from the floor.

I had the same concerns, but the base plate doesn't stick up much. I slide out the vertical struts and lay a rug over the right one - the left one is under the fold out couch so it's not an issue... If you carry only one bike, you can position it under the couch like I did... I really like not having to use tie downs, so the compromises were worth it.

Bought a pair of these Pittsburgh wheel chocks from Harbor Freight figuring I'd have to come up with some sort of way to anchor them to the floor of my 19' Attitude toy hauler. For once I totally lucked out and the eye bolts line up almost exactly with the anchor rings in the floor. There are 3 anchor rings and I'm able to put two stands side by side and I pass my tie down hooks through the anchor rings, and hook the tie down to the eye bolt itself, so the weight of pulling down the tie down actually sanchor the wheel chock to the floor. They're not the lightest thing, but I don't mind that cause I know they're built to last. The other bonus is they're adjustable for different front wheel sizes.

I randomly though about this post on the drive home from the track this weekend. Since I've pulled the trailer a few times, I figured it was time for your requested update.

The Tacoma pulls it great loaded down with bikes, gear, water, cooler, etc for the weekend. Drops my millage down to 10/11mpg, but that's totally fine with me. There are some decent sized hills between Minneapolis and Millville, but nothing like the mountains in SoCal.

The first time I pulled it, I didn't have my brake controller installed and you could for sure feel the trailer pushing the truck a little, but it wasn't terrible as long as you slowed down early enough. Once the brake controller was put in, I have no complaints at all.

You sir, win. I have no idea why this angled set up isn’t used more. By far most efficient for most bikes into the smallest space.

So you bought a cargo and turned it into a crew, or did it come with that seat? Is it difficult/safe to install a seat like that?

I've been looking intoncargos but would be happier with this

It can be even better. My 7x16 has e-track about 30" up off the floor down each sidewall. Simply pick a spot that balances out the load for however many bikes you bring, and just use tiedowns to the e-track. Biggest benefit is not needing bike shoes or wheel mounts. The e-track is also great for securing other items. My popup tent has its own spot as well as a propane heater in the winter etc...

Can’t answer for the other person but I went with a 12 passenger med roof transit and run it as a cargo. Bolt it on system works perfectly and I actually like the extra optional seating and the interior because it’s so much quieter. I made some cheap window covers to block out the sun on hot days and they actually insulate better as well.

I have a 7 year old so just bolting a random seat to my floor was a no go. Not really safe and I bet the insurance company or lawyers would be happy if someone got hurt because of not having a legit mounted seat. Those are fine if your going to just sit at the track but while driving, I couldn’t do it.
