What’s the sketchiest track you’ve ever ridden? A place where you do your sight lap and wonder how your gonna get through the day.

For me it was Toes pro track in WA. Could barely roll around that sucker.

Budds Creek the Monday after the Pro Nationals rolled out of town. No prep or water. There were maybe 8 of us, and we struggled.

Elsinore 2001ish

Good god, that place used to suck.

Fort Calhoun, Nebraska. Only time I raced in that state was in 1983. Blinding dust clouds led to 4 ambulance runs. They called off the 2nd set of motos because the town was out of ambulances.

Marty Smith's practice track off the 5 in Sorrento Valley. Thing was built on a hill with no flat land that I can remember, all off-camber turns and rock hard dirt. Getting to it was sketchy, too; you had to ride through a slightly less than head-height drainage tunnel under the freeway.

Hoopsten Ohio, 1995 regional qualifier for LL on 80’s, totally insane track for ameteurs. Qualified for three classes but god was I happy when it was over.

We had a round of the nz champs in Nelson in 97, it was in the grounds of a low security mental hospital and they warned us at briefing that the patients could sometimes be a bit unpredictable amd we might need to watch them

The start straight was perfect on a rugby pitch , but Track was so dusty , rocky and hilly, it was a nightmare

Well sketchy can be driven by layout, prep, weather, operator, or riders (including me) right?

So,

Albany
Hangtown
Washougal
Riverdale
PiR TNMX

And Glen Helen is #2 in every category!

But never, ever, fvcking EVER the Oatfield. That place was primo every damn time. Azevedo's rule.

estreet mx after the yuba riber flooded and I hadn't ridden in 10 months after a torn acl. It was more or less riding in 3 feet deep of river sand.

Everybody's bike went wherever god wanted it to go, nobody could hold a line that day.

If it can't be fixed with a hammer, it's an electrical problem.

I was going to list that one, then thought “nah, who’ll know of that one?” Lol

Other notables:

-Hannegan in the 90’s in the mud. Slick as greased shit.

-MXGP (Monroe, WA) one day in the mud. Almost didn’t unload due to rain the night before. Then I saw a guy getting around without issue so I rode. Floundered my way around long enough to hyper-extend my knee. The rider making it look easy? Turned out it was Ricky Dietrich in his pre-moto off-road days. Oops.

The track in Shannon Ga. Great practice track but if they ever held a race half the gate wouldn't make it to moto 2.
SORCS races out in Holland Ga. I think I've dnf'd every race Ive done there.

I can never gel with the Pala main post 2012. Pot holes, ruts and huge jumps. Haven’t ridden it almost two years though so maybe it’s better. The vet is always a good time especially when it’s prepped.

I was looking for this one.

This track, had a very small window or traction. After 10am, before Noon.

Slippery and slimy to dry blue groove and FAST

I rode riverdale this summer. Track was cool but owner said he needed 20 riders to at least throw the water truck out for 1 lap. Being from Cali where the track is prepped and water’d everyday it’s open, I was so confused ha Was the dustiest thing I’ve ever ridden and kind of sketchy. Pretty cool that it’s on the rivers edge and perfect for a few beers after motos though.

I’m stoked to see all these locals! I loved Toes! His GP sand track with the 110’ downhill sand triple was so fun in the winter! His SX track is what stands out to me as the scariest part! And the ramps…I don’t do ramps lol

Sketchiest track I can recall, and it’s this one every time, was Honey Lake, Ca. The lorettas qualifiers there were BRUTAL.

I hit the ramp on my 85! The gap was only about 20 feet though hahaha

That GP track was all time I would do some pretty dishonorable things to bring that place back lol
