Will on of the top riders skip the outdoors to further his chances at the sx title?

What if Eli or Toczen skip the outdoors just to stay healthy for the last six sx races if they even happen at this point.

I don’t think either would sit it out, but I could see one backing it down towards the end of the nationals if they didn’t have a shot at the outdoor title.
The real question is who will adapt back to SX quicker

Outdoors is another title in itself that these guys want to win. You'd never ask if one of them would sit out the end of SX to get ready for outdoors, so this shouldn't be any different

Plus, I'm pretty sure they are contractually obligated to race both series'

Bro theyre contracted to race both series. Sitting out isnt an option.

At this rate id be shocked if we even get an outdoor series this year.

I like Ken but recently he's run down at the end of outdoors so hopefully he stays good for the quick turnaround.

Contractual obligations are going to be somewhat restructured in a such a unique situation.
I hope we have all of them running outdoors and I am really wanting it to happen.

As riders get mathematically eliminated from a shot at the outdoor title, “injuries” will steadily climb. That’s a curve that won’t be flattened. Wink

I would love to see some teams take serious runs at top riders to get them to switch brands before SX starts back up. Man that would be a story for the history books. Sure I can't see it happening, but you have to think in the background offers will be made.

Yet it happens every year with riders who get injured and could probably come back to SX and score some points, yet they opt to start outdoor testing instead.

But for the contenders, I think that SX is still a higher priority than outdoors, so if a top guy gets a rough start to the National season or suffered a minor injury, sitting out would be a much more likely strategy than it would in a normal year.

Yes, but pulling out due to injury is different than skipping it all together to get ready for the “next series”

I feel like kenny has the advantage on adapting quicker. Naturally a better SX rider

I could see Kenny sitting out , working with Brayton over the summer. However Honda's call.

No.

Suppose Roczen sits out MX. And then the top 3-4 450 riders get injured & Roczen could have had something like a cakewalk to the championship.

And then he gets injured 1st SX race back while Honda paid him his regular salary to not race MX.

Just a scenario - there could be 1000s others, but all goes back to a rider setting out a series is guaranteed to Not Win It - with no guarantee to win the other.

When this current Zombie Apocolypse is over, you think ANY of them are gonna sit-out and MISS AN OPPORTUNITY to race?
Aka, an opportunity to make Hundreds of Thousands of dollars per event?
An opportuntiy to get up to speed ON THE TRACK against REAL COMPETITION?

Fortunately the riders aren't weak like this thread. No way they sit anything out.
