I raced my first off road race called the sandy clam gp, it was a god damn blast!! 3.5 hours on the rmz450, front forks at 181 psi, clickers in stock settings. hahaha I thought for sure my hands were bleeding by the end of the 90 min. I passed my way into first and even passed a couple of the AA guys from the expert line. Two pit stops, fuel and goggles, and about six stalls later I wound up in 4th with only blisters for a trophy.

You were too nice to that slower guy in the beginning. Then you get caught in the offroad black hole and ride by yourself for awhile. I hate that as I tend to ride slower. No way to judge against others.. The best thing that can happen is a faster lapper comes along and gives you a target and latch on to him. That can be alot of fun just you and him and trying to catch a guy that is a bit faster. Most times they just fly by, but sometimes you can keep up for awhile and it is a blast.
The only problem with this kind of race is old F**ks like me cannot go 3.5 hours. Did they have teams where you can switch off with two riders and one bike??????
