We were members of a mariachi band for our buddy race. I forgot my neck brace. I don't remember anything from that race.

Hahaha, that's awesome mate! Do you ever ride in "normal" gear? Smile

I always wear my atlas air brace. Can't even tell it's there, but wouldn't feel right without it.

Give the Atlas a try. I used some other braces and never wanted to wear it. With the Atlas I wear it every time and don’t know it’s on.

One time I went over the bars head first into the ground and I had a balaclava under my helmet. I am positive that balaclava saved me from a broken neck...In fact I guarantee I’d have broken my neck if I didn’t have that balaclava on...I won’t ride without a balaclava.

That is the sort of body positioning I would expect to break vertebrae. All the motion and load is concentrated under or near the end of the strut/support bar, resulting in overload.
