Worst thing is, they totally destroy the track. We used to race MX after the Side-hacks, at Outtrim in Victoria years ago. Like the quads, they just wreck berms, and formed lines in the track. Great for what they are, but don't mix 'em on the same track-same day!
You're right, it's impossible to ride a sidecar rut properly on a normal dirtbike. Those ruts are way too narrow for a normal dirtbike since they don't have to lean their wheels over.
Quads are better, they actually flatten the track sometimes with their wide tires.
