Thought I’d get a thread going so guys can exchange pictures and ideas of their new bike and people who are thinking about getting one can listen on and ask questions. I’d love to get this thread started with a picture of mine but unfortunately dealers in SoCal are fresh out. Let’s get this thread going and make it as big as the one for the KX450!

I wonder why Honda went so soft with the suspension. Didn’t they learn from that mistake in 2017/ 2018? Most guys buying these bikes are 180+ or even 220+

Does anyone know if a Works Connection Pro Launch device from 17-20 fits the new bike?

How ya liking the suspension ?
My least favorite part of the bike. In all of the Hondas I have owned, they have never missed the mark so much on the factory settings. They will be going to factory connection regardless this winter.

I am a 150 pound used to be fast guy and every test said they had to stiffen the suspension up to the max, but I felt it was the opposite for me. I had to go 6 clicks softer on the fork compression to get them rideable. I know the springs are still breaking in some. I wanted a true test on the first ride so I showed up at the track at 2pm to ride all the rough, rutted, and choppiness I could find to help dial it in.

On the positive side, the hydraulic clutch is incredible. The bike feels extremely light and thin, it corners better than I had hoped. The ECU dirtiness is completely over exaggerated by the shootouts and magazine test riders.

We can work with the suspension, overall I am very happy with my purchase. My yoshimura exhaust is on order!

At 160lbs I had to go a few clicks softer on the fork as well. Not sure how every test rider except ping felt they were way too soft.

Nice, used mine for the first time at the races this weekend. I've never used a hole shot device before, it's like cheating! It's nice to not have to spend $125 again

Got the Pro Action suspension on it. They did similar valving, pistons, and springs that my 17 and 19 had. Threw on my IMS pegs. Got an ARC front brake lever. Need some new grips ASAP.

Items im waiting on:
-Ride Engineering lowering link. Big fan.
-ARC Clutch lever (Is the master cylinder the same as the kx450f? Maybe just buy one for that bike?)
-Plastic. Bike looks sweet, but the plastic is very minimal. Few attachment points and less robust than previous years.

Love the bike. Gave a full review in one of the other topics. This is the bike that will keep me from buying a ktm 350.

Complaints... Everything inside the sub-frame is complete chaos. The bike looks awesome bolted together. Awful fit/finish. In taking the rear shock off, I really got a taste for what going on there. We say at work "10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag" - exactly what doing on. Cool that they moved the battery down there, the plastic box is garbage. Modifications to the terminal connectors to put my Anti-gravity lithium battery in resulted in a poor cover fit. The whole airbox just kinda floats in the middle of the subframe and vaguely gets held in place by i think 2 bolts. Side number plates have zero strength to them and the clip/slide is something i would expect to see on a crf50. Im not impressed by the reduction of hardware. Oddly thats one of the features they presented in the 2021 release. Hondas re-design in this area is a poor effort compared to what yamaha did flipping the engine backwards and logically laying out fit/finish on the intake. I still think the 09-12 crf450 had the best plastic and sub-frame/seat layout. Oh well.

Unfortunately the exhaust on the '21 doesn't hold up to much abuse..

Talked to a guy at the track today who was on a 21, he said the bog is extremely annoying. Has anyone come up with a fix for it yet? Are you even able to change map 1? Also the clutch cable routing is weird as hell in person. I wonder if any companies like Galfer or Ride Eng will come out with a cable that routes another way.

Is that from squeezing the bike? I noticed on the go bikes the muffler gets trashed from the boot.

Saw a post on FB of a guy who had picked his up, that he was sending ECU back to the dealer to get "the ECU update". Made is sound like its an official Honda thing. I have one on order (not yet delivered), asked my dealer about any ECU update and he had no idea.

twisted development remapped mine map 1 is locked so that is what it is there but map 2 and 3 are great. map 3 is more aggressive with smoother roll on power. I like this when the track is just groomed and fresh. then map 2 for later in the day. smoother roll on power that builds and easy to ride longer when the track gets rough.

Bog-b-gon?

So my dealers telling me that honda changed their order from 1 450r and 3 450L's to 4 450L's without telling them. Claiming he can't get ahold of his rep or anyone in california. Duno wtf is going on now..

That’s what I figured. Map 1 was locked on the last bike too. That’s good to hear the other two maps work well and I’ve heard a lot of good things about twisted development

I own a 17’ but ripped my buddys 21’ in Glamis all weekend. That hydro clutch was butter all day, not adjusting it was real fuckin nice. The cable routing gave me a weird vibe at first but i actually like it now.
Kinda like my gf.

Where did all the dirtbikes go ?
