Thank you!
Both 500's. we built them for Mammoth 2014. We pulled fuel injected bikes up the hill all three days!
Great fun if you have throttle control. Things go bad real quick if you don't.
Cheers,Pat

seriously...

if someone could just design and manufacture a counterbalancer kit for this motor, I probably wouldn't ride anything else. I'd have 2 of them at least. One for moto, one for off-road.

I really thought Service Honda would have been a good candidate to developed a kit for the 500 and the 250, especially when they started putting them in quads a few years ago. They certainly had the resources to pull it off. There have been some decent attempts by individuals throughout the years, but so far, nothing has really materialized. I guess I'll keep waiting.

I sent the crank out to get balanced on mine and it made a world of difference. Barely vibrates more than my rm250. Here's mine

My '99 cr500 AF with a 2002 motor.
You guys may remember I traded my 2012 GasGas Enduro for it.
And I love it. It doesn't vibrate real bad and it's got more power than anyone could ever need.

Well, your wish may come true. Panthera Motorsports already do Cases, Cranks and the Electric Starter kit, and they all started with a CG picture like this :https://www.facebook.com/pantheramotorsports/photos/a.180366095640599.1…

I'd say it would necessitate cases made by them to accommodate it.

yeah, I'm aware of those cases. It just seems like they would have already considered it, and the fact that they brought those cases to market and didn't engineer a counterbalancer, suggests they are either not interested or incapable for whatever reason.

The quad guys would buy them faster than they could make them.

I agree though, complete billet cases would be the most logical and ideal situation for a counterbalancer.

Motor had a lot of work and the crank was balanced so vibration was not to bad. The frame was more forgiving with the bigger motor compared to the 250.

Look at the site / the picture, if you haven't done so - it should bring up the picture / posting straight away.

As I said, their previous products have been shown as CG pictures such as that. Then, done.

They make cases already = they can certainly make cases to take a counter balancer. As their note implies, they obviously have had people asking about counter balancers, and they are putting out that it may be / is in the pipeline. Those cases they already make, are being used on more 'things' than motorcycles.

Won't be cheap, but there are people that will have the money.

The vibration is not so bad to me. A little more on the bike stand than you really feel on the track. I would like to at some point try some Flex bars and rubber mounted clamps IF I wanted to spend the $, Right now I like spending the dollars to go race and ride it.

^ Break your lower and front engine mounts loose, leave your swingarm pivot torqued to spec. If there is a gap at any of your mounts, build shims to fit, so they are snug to fit the gap. The vibration will become almost non-existent. Did that on the turd Fanelli built me, and it doesn't vibrate at all. My Steelie was WAY worse.
