Should there be changes?

Edited Date/Time 3/15/2013 9:07am
Supercross is the only series that has had the same boring rules forever.

Should supercross change up some of the rules?

Reset the points for the last few rounds?

Joker lane?

The new rules in Arenacross have made for some exciting racing for the fans and kept things interesting down the stretch.

A lot of tradition with supercross in the US, so I can see why they dont seem very interested in changing things up. We have had different formats used over here for several years, and I think it works well. People do criticise the different formats though because it is not the same as the US formats. I would like to see something done to change it up if they arent going to build better tracks or run 20min mains.

There are things that can be changed for the good of the sport. But no there shouldn't be changes just for the sake of change

How about make the rules apply to everyone, regardless who you ride for?

If anything it needs to go back to old heat, semi, LCD , main format.. I loved the joker lane in a one-off race and like the Race for the Championship format for AX, but I don't like either for SX.

Yes, the change should be that they run the Nationals before SX. I'm tired of the Nationals getting mentally and physically exhausted riders, not to mention all the riders that don't get out of SX with the requisite number of functional body parts.

Run the gal darn tracks into the stands like the old days..

Obviously LA coliseum, I think Pontiac Silverdome SX, even a little section in the Ole King Dome back in the late 80's?

So much elevation gain/loss in stadiums, lets use it, Dammit!!

Longer moto's whats with the sprint races , and rougher tracks. With these four strokes it seems that whoever gets the holeshot wins. Thank God we have such great riders or sx wouldn't even be worth watching. Bring on MX.

The first 5 - 8 laps of a main event are normally exciting then more often than not its a snore fest after that.

3/4 of the show is a waste of time with qualifiers that don't mean anything. I would run day qualifiers and make massive changes to the night program.

Yes it should be changed...........................Back to how it use to be.

Every change in the last 10 years have been totally negative.

Bring back.

Heats, semis and LCQ
22 riders in the small bore class
30 riders at Daytona
Racing during the day for making the night show.........no timed practice
Use the whole floor space.
Grand National Champ. Combination of both MX and SX points

Change

AT least 1:00 lap times
ENFORCE THE FREAKING RULES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now if I had MY way.....................Turn 17 rounds of SX in about 7 or 8 and make a 20 race outdoor season.

Yeah we need a 125 class again.
Or at least 250 vs 250, no matter what stroke or brand it is.

Wrong.

The 250 class is the feeder class for privateers to attempt to get their feet wet. If you combine it, you only make it harder, and more expensive (travel) than it already is.

Worst idea.

You "lap time" cheer leaders need to understand that bikes and riders are getting faster, but football stadiums aren't getting bigger.

The only way to slow them down at this point is with wall jumps and sand, which disrupt the racing so badly, even my girlfriend says "I can't stand those wall jump thingies"

If you want to hate me for bringing logic, go right ahead.

what if they dont change the rules but yet make better tracks and bring back better rhythm sections,

Get that Italian fella from the GP series to get involved, he'll throw some fucks into the works for you.

I really like the idea of multiple mains like they did in Australia. The starts and first few laps are the most interesting. Generally laps 10=20 of a Supercross race are boring.
