Battled between 250f’s and 450’s for as long as I can remember. Always enjoyed the 250’s more, but with an open pro class where I live racing against 450’s always put me at a disadvantage.

Anyways, I always rode my bikes like Bam Bam. On the rev limited and typically a gear lower than I should be.

I switched it up this year and went with a FC350. It has completely changed me as a rider. Not necessarily faster, but actually riding a 4-stroke the way it should be. Quick shifts and low revs.

The funny thing is everyone told me and the Youtube videos I watched that you can rev this bike to the moon if you want. However, I never have because it doesn’t “feel” like I have to.

5hrs on the bike so far and very impressed with it. I never knew what to expect, but after riding it is so similar to a 250 with just a little more grunt. I certainly don’t think it feels like a 450 power wise.

Would be interested to hear other peoples transition to the 350 or from a 350 back to a 250 or 450.

I’ve been a mostly 250 two strokes the last 10 years or so but got a 350 in 2017. Had a couple 250fs never a 450 but I felt the 350 was very close power, feel and fun wise to my 250sx. Easiest bike to ride and most fun bike I’ve ever had. I’m just a 30+ amateur but I could never use any more hp than the 350 could put out, the thing will go as fast as you want. 3rd and 4th fear we’re all I think I ever used, can’t wait to hopefully get a 2020 in the next few months.

I recently bought a 2020 FC350. Previous bike was a 19 Kawi 450. The fun factor of the 350 is off the hook! I'm now doing 30 minute motos consistently, and don't have arm pump at the end. This is the first time in many years of riding, that I can't wait till the next time to ride again. For me, when riding the 450 I could only ride 11-13 minutes comfortably before I felt like (OH SHIT) situations would come up. I was definitely riding the 450 more on the defensive side, to where the 350 is all on the offense, twice as long, and twice as fun!

NeedMoto says it all. I bought a 2018 FC350 and it is the best bike I have ever owned, and that is over 40 bikes and counting. Never scares me and I feel like I can ride it vs it riding me (a la 450). Brings me a smile every time I get on it. I rode a 2020 KX450 2 weeks ago, and its a fine bike I'm sure, but no thanks. Too much too soon for me these days.

They’re a super fun bike and probably more suited to most people than their egos would allow.

i've ridden likely 20+ bikes and nothing comes close to my FC350. my fulltime ride/race bike for over 20yrs has been a 250 2T till I got a '18 FC350. wow. easily the most fun bike I've ever had. I'm one of those die hard 2 stroke guys. you couldn't pay me to ride anything else at this point...

I just picked up a low hour ‘19 350SXF on Sunday. I met the seller at a track in NorCal.
It was so cool to ride as soon as I bought it! I’ve been riding my RMZ250F for 11 years and occasionally my ‘04 RM250.
I rode about an hour and found it pretty easy to ride. I softened up the fork a bit and was very comfortable for getting on a different platform. I don’t have enough time on it to have more input. Needless to say, I can’t wait to get back out on a track.

Went from several yz250f's to ktm 350sxf back to yz250f. 38yrs old, intermediate in my prime, now I'm just having fun. If the ktm suspension was on par with the yamaha the ktm/husky 350f would be the best bike ever produced in my opinion. Very ride-able and manageable power delivery, the engine pulls forever, ergonomics are perfect, bike goes where ever you point it. Dial in the suspension and enjoy.

Great to hear that you are enjoying your 350. They are cool bikes. I have never totally meshed with a 450 but sometimes found myself wishing I had a bit more on my 250Fs (admittedly my own fault for not having enough momentum to clear said obstacle etc.) But the 350 has treated me well. I love it at our local indoor AX track and its just magic at big places, like High Point. I can't say it is far and away better than my YZ250F, as there are still some things about that bike that I like better, but overall the 350 is the best bike that I have owned. I usually keep my bikes for a couple years, and plan on keeping the 350 at least another year before I decide to get another. As of right now, it is at the top of my list, along with the YZ250F. Lately I've been riding my new 125 more, but going to start getting out on the 350 again.

15 350sxf to now a 19 350sxf. I personally am very happy with the forks maybe because of what I came off of. After I dialed them in, everything tracks straight, great bottom resistance, and no harsh feeling in square edges. Im a fan of the air fork because it makes it simple for me to tray new settings. If you want to ride hard, down shift and ring it out. It just keeps pulling!

After 7 hours on the bike the two things I have noticed are. More vibration in the handlebar and stalling in tight rutted corners in 2nd gear. I’m sure that’s more technique than bike. I’m going to go up to a 52 sprocket and see if that helps with the taller gear in corners.

Yamaha please make a 350!!!

I switched brands and went to a 450 because of my 15 350 on 4cs.

I wish now I’d ridden a newer 350 before buying my Yamaha. Besides the 4CS debacle, I couldn’t gel with the power of my 15. It took too much energy for me to be quick. I’m a lugger, gear high rider, so after riding a friends 450, I sold my 350 the next weekend.

Now, after riding a friends 250 last weekend, I’m convinced 99% of the problem with my 15 was all suspension related haha.

Next bike might be another 350, becaus putting that Yz450f on the stand after a Moto is getting really fucking old.

I'm 10 hours into a 2020 FC350 and I couldn't agree more. I feel like I can chug it through a turn similar to a 450 but wind it out like a 250. I did have ENZO do a KYB Conversion on the fork as well as revalve the shock and it completely changed the bike for me. It's hands down the best bike for me, that I have ever owned.

Just ordered a Vortex for my 350, we will see if it is better than the stock ECU in about a week...

I put one on my FC350. Runs cleaner, starts easier, no flameouts. A bit more torque, but don't expect anything mind blowing. Just a really clean running scoot. I run T4 and has FMF slip on.

I wish yam would come out with a 350,
I like the KTM s, but the suspension SUX!
Yea it can be fixed at the cost of another $1000, as much as bikes cost shouldn’t have to spend another grand to get it rideable

The 350 is the most fun bike to ride, IMO. Really reminds me of the 250 2T, but with a excellent low-end power. Excellent low-end power in that it pulls nicely through the corners and your arms remain in your shoulder sockets. Honestly re-sparked the joy of riding for me.

This is why I haven't made the move from 250F's to 350's.

That and the fact KTM's (parts and bikes) are super expensive. Last time I did the math, for the price of 3 250F's I could only get 2 350's...

Geez, where are you finding these bikes? I got a 350 instead of a kx450 because the 350 was a better deal, both brand new bikes.
I haven’t noticed parts prices being more, seems like I get more life out of KTM stuff. Love both of mine.

The 350 is the best 4-stroke bike for your gen-pop professional practice rider/race-for-fun segment.

The engine is like a large small-bore 2 stroke with a perfectly linear powerband. Really like my ‘19 FC350.

Love my 18 FC350. Bought it after 10 years on 450s, after coming to the realization that I was getting scared by the weight and power of the 450 as I aged. Yeah, I put another 2500 into it (MX Tech suspension and a Radius CX) , but I only paid $6900 as a leftover and with the build quality and design it was worth every dime. Usually I get rid of a bike at 125 or so hours, but not this one. I'll have it for a long time. It is far better than I am, and I am so comfortable pushing my (low) limits on it.
