Should Webb be penalized?

I've watched the replays and can't tell if the red cross flag was out or not. Everyone else (Grant, Tomac, Peick) seemed to understand the situation and roll. Grant was in front of Webb and the 32 was right beside him.

Depends if the flag was out or not....you would have thought it would be pretty clear cut.

when the camera man pans out a seconds from that spot you can see a guy 2 jumps before waving a white/red cross flag.

Can he even be penalized? Once the results are "official" that's it right?

Per the rulebook:
"The issuing of official results does not exempt riders who competed in the event from penalties for rules violations
determined by the Race Director following the protest period."

Nice catch. What is the prescribed penalty? They sure didn't have a problem sticking to the rules with Ando.

I'm not 100% sure what you're implying here, care to elaborate?

I think it's legit to question this.

The race should have been red flagged considering the area of the crash.

I thought this myself. Seemed pretty weird to let it go.

I kept looking up at the time on the finish line and was wondering if they were going to red flag it. Not a good place to be down. I still think they should have.

Several guys doubled out of that section multiple times with the Red Cross flag flying.

Just more double standards to the rule book. Dungey gets a win taken away last year for jumping on a Red Cross flag while others don't get punished at all.

Not sure whether Web should be penalised, But check out 722 in the LCQ start. Lines up on the outside, enters first turn near last, goes straight through the corner misses the first lane, rhythm section, and is in second next time the camera picks him up, half a lap later. Something needs to be done in messing up and missing a lane or deliberately missing a lane with no penalty or loss of place, in this case making up 20 places.

Could that have been his brother on the #723? They look alike on the bike.

Yep that was 723 on the outside not 722.

c. During a main event race, if no positions were gained, the penalty will be the points and purse equal to two positions in the final results for that race plus two additional points.

d. During a main event race, if any positions are gained, the loss of number of positions gained plus the points and purse equal to two additional positions in the final results for that race, plus two additional points."

If multiple people did this as stated here, the flags may have been seen too late by these riders is my honest guess.

Right after the crash, the guy with the red cross flag ran over to look at Roczen. I was yelling at him through the TV. He then realized he was screwing up and ran out in front and started waving the flag. I am not sure where Webb was in all this, but he might have come through when the guy wasn't waving it.

It's really no different than football fans discussing a no call on a penalty like pass interference for example. By the looks of it, Cooper broke the rule gaining an advantage and should have been penalized. That's the rules and they are in place for a reason. I'm all about breaking rules, but you've gotta pay the consequences.

Maybe he thought it was safer to jump over the situation than ride through it? Lol
