There are plenty of warm places with awesome tracks in the USA. F-winter.
I'm really enjoying the MXGP!

It will never happen again but they need at least two double headers to provide for two more off weekends. SX travel schedule is is insane racing 13 weekends in a row.

Aside from that the 17 and 12 deal works for me as is.

12-15sx, 12mx.

Give the guys a few extra wks off during the sx season. they are long and brutal with not much time off between seasons.

These guys are at it year, round 24/7. A few extra wks off would do them great.

Absolutely! SX is entertaining but waaaay to much airtime and as Emig sez it's all about the holeshot. I'd LOVE to see them bring back 45minute motos too but the General Public can't sit still any longer than your average sit-com takes. Can't wait for Glen Helen National and the USGP...........Hey you kids! Get offa my lawn!!!

It's fine the way it is. I would, however, love to see the AMA series and GP series end on the same weekend, or at least within a week of each other. I would do this by having a longer break in between MX and SX instead of a huge break between the final AMA round and the Des Nations.

DEFINATELY Drop the SX down to 13 rounds and make MX 15 or 16 rounds then bring back the Grand National Champion. I would say 14 and 14 but I know SX needs the odd round for the shootout so 13 SX an 15 MX. Real quick, you could bring Gainesville and Southwick back and maybe Pala.

I'v always thought that the sx series gets booring after 11-13 rounds, same tracks week in week out. I could watch 20 mx rounds and that would never get booring.

Shorten SX series. Add 5 U.S. races to the GP series. Cut the AMA nationals. All the contenders in 1 series. The bullshit walks.

It won't happen. All the big money is in SX. your average casual observer is more likely to go to A1 and get a beer and watch the race then sit in 100 degree weather on the side of a dirt hill to watch the national.

I was getting ready to agree with the OP until I read your post and then remembered how hot it was at Budds Creek last year. I'd go anywhere else but probably not there ever again in that heat. It was beyond brutal. Gives the fans a real appreciation for the conditioning of the riders though.

With the other events (MEC, RB-Straight Rhythm) there will still be racing. But I really like the outdoors better. I guess SX is where the money is.

Yeah, I agree with this. The hardcore fans prefer the outdoors because they can relate to it more.

At this very point in time....I'd be happy with the MEC...then 29 damn nationals! I was really pumped for this season , but lately I have lost a little interest. Every year the same thing , I miss the outdoors right about now.

After walking around the pits at STL, I realized how many COMPLETE douche bags follow this sport. Holy shit, I thought I was at a monster truck event. Don't get me wrong, it's cool that they come out and support the sport...but damn.....

WAY to much money to be lost by cancelling sx rounds. Not gonna happen.

As for hucks comments on the douche bags at the races. There was a interview with Travis Pastrana a long long time ago. Doubt I could even find it anymore. He basically talks about the percentage of fans in the crowd. He says like 20% were there just to see someone get hurt or die. sad but true!

That's a really good point about keys to the race. Starts in mx are important but not the holy grail. Look at what Nagl did over the weekend. Key to the race in mx would be to be consistent, conserve energy, find the best lines, plan your attack.

Back on topic, you have far to many races in US. 29 race weekends is ridiculous and provides no time for injury recovery. Maybe Roczen would be out there now if there was even a one week break between some of the races and the championship would not be such a snooze.

but start the nationals @ the end of aug runs till end 'mid oct.
riders get a summer break and not racing in the heat..and get to go to some cool tracks in the early fall.
don't care about stick and ball sports so no interfearance with football to me.

Outdoors is core. SX is only useful to pass the time during winter. Too much like nitro circus fmx shit. Washougal is always packed. I applaud luongo for a nice long exciting (core) series.
how many SX rounds are held in California?

I think one way to do it would be starting SX in December that way there could be a little more of a break in between SX and the Nats. They would have a shorter offseason but more downtime in between seasons. Although that might conflict with other sporting events at the stadiums.
