Does anyone have a preferred shipper so you can adequately insure your stuff within a reasonable cost?

Any preferred box setup? I have a rifle case, but I've read that's not a good idea since they get stolen more often and sone shippers won't accept them?

Ups, insured. Factory connection supplies a box.

If you're using Roth Racing for your suspension work, be sure and fill the box with those foam peanuts.

Gun cases are okay, but we've definitely seen them blown apart when we get them in. Good rule is to wrap it twice as well as you think you'll ever need. Race Tech primarily uses UPS with insurance and like Factory Connection does, we'll also supply a box along with packing material to you. Our boxes are extremely heavy duty designed specifically for suspension.

Background: Sent my forks and shock to Roth Racing. Unbeknownst to me, the UPS store filled the box with those peanuts while I was paying the clerk up front. Apparently, when the box was opened at Roth Racing, there was a bit of a wind and foam peanuts ended up scattered to hell and gone. I can't repeat publicly what I was told I could do with those peanuts. So when I get my suspension back and open the box in my garage, the whole scenario repeats itself. Slip had carefully picked up the peanuts and put them back in the box. I was still finding those damn peanuts in my yard months later.

I use Factory Connection. They supply the box and their customer service is awesome.

Ups or fedex insured. USPS should never be an option shipping anything of value ever. Much higher system of accountability with ups/fedex.

Whichever one you choose, if anything goes wrong, you're fucked. At least unless customer service is way better in US than it is in Europe. I'm going back and forth with fedex for months now over a set of forks that they scratched.

I found pipe insulation to be the best protection for forks if you ship them in a box. Wrap the forks with stretch, put inside the insulation pipe (or 2) and into the box.

If you are going to regularly send your suspension off for service I would suggest something like this, you can find different brands on sale at great prices sometimes! The price is offset by that one time you get a box that UPS used as a stepping stool...

I have always used good gun cases with no issues. Shipped insured for the value of the suspension. Made sure the case was zip tied and duck taped.

A friend of mine who runs a construction business used a big pvc pipe to ship his. Worked pretty good. Not sure what it would cost to buy one but pretty sure he had caps for the ends too. No problems with shipping damage

I worked for ups for 7 years. I always say....pack it better than 10 feet to concrete rule. make sure that box has the capability of falling 10 feet to concrete with the contents inside not breaking. Not saying it happens every interaction but sooner or later a package is gonna fall 10 feet to concrete.

It’s all how you pack it!


Rifle cases will work well. Wrap fork tubes and shock in bubble wrap. reinforce ends. You’ll be good.
