I know they do killer AF conversions and I have ordered about $3-4k of OEM stuff from them in the past 5-6
years and also turned many many riding buddies onto them because they sell OEM parts very cheap.
That is all over with now.
My last order made it to my local UPS warehouse, only to get sent back to Svc Honda because
Service Honda reused a box and it had 2 labels on it, which confused UPS. UPS apologized and said
they would refund the shipping to Service Honda I called and asked for the manager and was told she
was out to lunch (11am Michigan time) . I call back after lunch 2 hours later and ask again. 'She just
stepped out'. 1 hour later, still out. 1 more hour I finally get her on the phone and explain to her the mistake
her people made.
I asked for overnight shipping as it was Mon and I was going to a LL Qualifier on Thurs afternoon. "No way I
am going to lose money on your order" was her answer. I tried to explain that to run a good business you
sometimes lose money especially when you screw up. She didnt care. I asked for 2 day (which would cost
her $10), still no way. I told her to cancel my order, in a sly bitchy voice "Sure, no problem, but I will charge
you 20% for restocking the parts".
My local shop couldnt get the parts quick and she had me by the balls. I had to pay extra for 2 day
shipping. EVEN THOUGH UPS REFUNDED Service Honda MY ORIGINAL FREIGHT CHARGE.
So I paid $30 to get it shipped and Service Honda got a $20 credit to their UPS account.
The kicker is that when I asked for her name she refused to provide it and when I called back the
guys on the phones told me that they are instructed to not give out the names of any of the
management in the parts dept.
I know AJ (SVC Honda owner) reads this forum, maybe he will look into why the his parts dept is treats
customers like shit and then hides behind low level phone order guys.
Head to rockymountain if you want a pleasant and professional experience, they now sell OEM parts for
the big 4, have a ton of stuff in stock and shipping is free. But continue to buy sweet ass AF conversions
from Service Honda.
Rant over.

The Shop
Some people don't get it.
But they sure expect good service when they are the customer!
Maybe you were a perfect gentleman. Just saying, there could be more to the story. Regardless there is no excuse for the poor service/behavior of the parts manager.
my only qualms with them is that they ship stuff slow, compared to say motosport but im sure they do alot of sales so its to be expected.
If you're trying to bust balls for supporting rockymountain, think twice. They support the supercross you watch on TV with their advertising dollars and for that I support and thank them.
Again though....never heard anything bad about service Honda and AJ from what I have seen on here is a classy dude. Maybe the chick at the counter just had a shitty day.....but that is no excuse!
Pit Row
I know I had a buddy that tried to buy a wide-ratio CR500 trans from them about 6-7 years ago, and said they were like dealing with his ex-wife.
2. time
3. convenience
If I want new sprockets / chain for a bike, I can go to www.motosport.com and the parts show up to my house in three days. Shipping is FREE and the OTD price is WAY lower than the local dealer.
If I go to to local dealer, they "have to order it" and "it should be here in a few days". Then, you get a "courtesy call" four to seven days later saying you can make another trip down to the dealer to pick the items up. Oh yeah, and don't forget that you paid significantly more for the same parts to begin with. Also, add in the possibility that the parts guy doing the clicking on the computer might have fucked up your order and ordered red sprockets when you wanted rainbow colored (it has happened to me). Now, you have paid more initially, driven to the shop twice, and you are stuck with the wrong part. Now, you get to wait another week for them to re-order your correct part and then make a third trip to the shop to pick up your parts. However, once you get there, you learn that although the sprockets are there, the chain "is on back-order". Now, you get to wait another week and make a fourth trip to the local dealer. All this to "help support the local dealer"? I'm all for helping small business but if you run your shop like huge conglomerate corporation (bike routinely priced over $1000 higher than what everyone else is selling them for), it's hard to have sympathy.
When I was a kid, the local shops were like mom and pop type places where they knew my name and allowed me to climb all over their fleet of new 80s and would give me free stickers. Nowadays, they are like car dealerships. "Let me talk to my manager and bump the price on you". Pisses me off.
I'll stick to motosport, chapparal, etc. for all my parts needs, thank you.
If you owned an F1 car (Honda), would you take it to the local Honda dealer to have the engine worked on? LMFAO! We have high performance race bikes. If anyone is gonna take apart my $35,000 dirt bike engine (after financing, that it was it costs me at only 45% APR) it is gonna be an engine expert and I wanna be shown stuff. Not drop it off and see it disappear for weeks behind the curtain behind the guy at the counter.
The delivery guy can KNOW exactly where it is supposed to go, but if they have a wrong number, or a double lable, they send it back to the sender as "undeliverable".
Then the sender fixes the problem, and resends, but shipping will be paid on both shipments.
I am not defending Service Honda in any way, any they probably did send the package out with an old label on the package, but UPS is the one who forced this issue.
I know this because I worked for UPS for 5 years.
