Yeah so...I'm the guy that updates his gear every 7 or 8 years (whether it needs it or not) so I'm not too up on all the newest gear styles and names.
I'm looking for a set that's the lightest and most vented. What do you guys like the best in that category?

Back when I raced a lot, I tried some vented Thor Gear. It shrunk more noticeably then the "non-vented" gear that I was used to and the pants filled up with dirt from roost. Hopefully, the gear companies have these issues sorted out by now, but I've never worn it since, so I don't know.
Good luck with whatever brand you choose!

The current Moose stuff is top notch.
When you're not you're not.
Before I switched to Fox, I wore the TLD SE Pro. It's billed as their most "high-tec" set (read: not built for longevity). I was disappointed in the venting (or lack thereof).
I've also worn a fair amount of Fox 180 in recent years. On a budget, the 180 line lasts really well, and the most current stuff is really light (doesn't have big plastic branding or anything). Bang for your buck, I think the Fox 180 is a really good value.
Big surprise for me: I inherited some Oneal Mayhem gear and although the pants are heavy, the jersey is really great. It breathes really well.

I'm also a big fan of the TLD GP Air. Good shit! If going this route make sure you get the GP "Air" versus the standard GP gear. The standard GP stuff is great as well it's just not vented like the "Air" line.
The Fly mesh gear is also quality gear.
You guys should try a set of the Klim XC Lite. It's really good stuff. Amazing quality at a GREAT price point!!!
