I am hoping to repair my SIDI crossfire 2 boots.

The main portion of the sole has separated from the boot- as they always do eventually in my experience with 3 pairs of crossfire 2 boots the last few years. The difference is that this pair of crossfire 2's is not that old- I have not even replaced the soles on them once yet.

I am hoping to find out what type, specifically, of adhesive I can shoot down in there and expect a good bond.

I love these SRS boots but they always come apart in this fashion . Has anyone got any tips on this matter? thanks

They are dirty. They got dirty as a result of dirtbike riding, which is what I purchased them for.

I think some guys like to decorate their garages with cool stuff and some guys like to use the cool stuff. You should see what my old boots with 300 hrs on them look like. They started out white.......

yes, and some guys have had enough pairs of boots to know what to do when they're falling apart... and some guys don't...

Could it be that (if you wash them ever Wink ) you hit them pretty hard with the pressure washer?
I had to pairs of Sidis and never had aproblem.
But solve your problem: use an permanently elastic adhesive and don't hit thm too hard with the pressure washer

I won't buy boots that don't have the sole stitched on,, every pair of glue ons I have seen does that.

I think you are onto something here. so far I am three for three with the crossfire 2 boots- all come apart at the glued section.

Thanks for the few useful responses in this thread.

The rest of the "eew your boots are dirty" guys should just go polish some of your spotless memorabilia from your long gone riding days in your spotless man caves, if you had any riding days.

If I asked the same question and posted the same pic on a teenage girls forum, I would have gotten better info than "eew your boots are dirty" ...useless bitches

Do you drag your feet in ruts? Youll see some of the pros accidently drag their toes, but would assume this happens when dirt slowly gets between the sole and the mid sole. Also using a pressure washer to clean your boots could be pushing that dirt further between the soles. Wash with a hose and good soap after every ride.

I don't wash my boots any more than necessary. why? cause the water is what ruins the thread holding them together. So I am with you on the dirty boots.

My first pair of srs’s did the same thing, I thought it may have been due digging out my starting gate with the toe. 2 years (150ish hrs) on my 2nd pair now and so far so good trying to be more mindful of digging with the toe, about due for the first sole replacement but wouldn’t mind some freshies either 😎

My Sidis are about a year old and are doing the same thing. I take care of them and I ride at least once a week. I’m just hoping they hold out til October so I can send them out to be repaired.

I love the sidis and will buy them again. But out of the 20+ pair of boots I’ve owner throughout my life they’re the only ones I’ve had the sole literally peel back. Most of the boots I’ve owned have been alpinestars tech 8’s and 10’s. While the soles would get chewed up on the bottom I’ve never had them peel like this.

That Sidi model is a Crossfire SRS, and like the conversation here, it does delaminate sometimes. Sidi also sell another version with a welt, stitched on sole, that is otherwise 100% identical except for the sole, called the Crossfire TA. It gets overshadowed by the SRS, but does not delaminate. Frankly I think it fits better, and it is also $50 cheaper.

Hope that helps.

The TAs have a much wider footprint. I had both and the difference in width is pretty substantial. So you can't just switch fom SRSs to TAs and expect them to be the same boot with just a different sole.

OK, fair point. Sole footprint is wider, I should be more specific: from the sole and sole footprint up, the upper is identical.

The other difference is that they are not susceptible to the delaminating issue in the OP's example.

Thanks everyone for the info

It sounds like this is just what happens to SIDI SRS boots. Not cool.

I do have a pair of (stitched sole) Crossfire TA boots as well, but prefer the SRS boot for its feel.

The TA seems a bit clunkier, heavier, and maybe lacks a touch of the feel of the crosssfire SRS. I guess I will buy TA's again in the future though. These higher end boots disintegrating like this is lame.
