I have a bad habit of sitting to far back on the seat, im going to try a seat bump to give me a reference point and i think it will keep me from sliding back exiting corners. Where on the seat should i put it?

They are awkward and don’t work in my opinion. You’re better off getting a good seat cover and fixing your technique. Having a tight fitted pant also helps.

Draw a line on the seat and stay forward off that line!

Seat bump won't fix your situation, change your technique.

Have you tried moving your bars forward and/or changing the chassis balance with sag or fork height adjustments?

just do the same section over and over at half speed with good technique until you get it.

I think the best way to correct this is focusing on getting your head over the bars in the corners. This should self correct your seating position, but has 100 other benefits as well!

Just slam your nuts against the gas tank on corner entry, it isn’t that difficult

I have a stepped seat on my YZ450, it's not quite far enough forward to be optimum for going into corners, it's better at keeping my rump from sliding back too far under acceleration.

When my son was first starting to race, he would sit too far back in the corners. I took a rag and wound it around a bungee, then strapped it to the seat. He would make sure to have his butt in front of the rolled up rag when entering corners, and once it became unecessary I just pulled it off.

Not sure if this is allowed but we couldn't help but jump in and throw our two cents in. We recently launched the industry's only adjustable and removable seat bump for situations just like this. Installs in under a minute and can help with form or just finding the right spot to put a permanent bump. www.TheCornerCoach.com

I’d pay money to see the replies on a “12 days of Xmas The Corner Couch” thread.

Learn to stand and/or keep your feet on the pegs in corners, the problem will solve itself.

The corner coach thing is cool, being that it’s so easily moveable.

And I know this is an old thread but I’m a seat bump proponent. Slap half an old bar pad and some super glue on that bitch and let er eat

Im 6'3 and have the same problem. Actually feel more comfortable/faster but know its holding me back

For what its worth, A Ples had a stepped seat on his yamaha- assuming to help the same thing as he is 6'2

I have the same issue, corner great when I’m far enough forward, but I find it difficult on my yz with the wideness of it up front, thinking of trying a taller seat so there’s not so much of a pocket to sit in, the flatter the seat the easier to get forward

Get your core strength up and it will work wonders for keeping your torso forward
