I know they cut it last year. I also know they never cut it in the old days. Since the whippersnappers tell us all the time that the riders today are soooo much more skilled and in shape than the old guys were and that the bikes are soooo much better.... How did those out of shape, talentless, losers of yesteryear ever make it in the mud?

I remember in 1981 the first time I ever saw it only the drunks even tried it. Even they had to zig-zag every other step. It was that steep both up & down. I was amazed how the pro’s negotiated it. It was hands down no question the most challenging obstacle on the track.

Add rain and mud... May have been 1987 MXdN all over again and slowed the show down.

So it was the riders who decided to remove the section? Nobody cares how tough you were.

Me neither. Unless it was late in the day that he's talking about it being cut.

That section was cut for both 2nd motos last year, after the heavens opened up, yup. I was kind of hoping to see the carnage it would bring, but... they made the right call ;-)

What is the purpose of having that steep of a hill on the track if it’s impossible to go up after tons of rain?

Motocross has become all about the spectator. It used to be all about man and machine. Some of the new ways suck, some is better. Personally, I think moto should be nearly impossible. Three 45-minute motos. Its just these days, not enough 'real men' would show up. Look at the sx only, not even close to being the best in shape humans on earth.

The racing was great, both last year and this year (we attended last year, not this year) It was well into the 2nd motos (on TV) before I even caught that section was deleted, so imo, the racing was great, with or without the section.
Of course I would have LOVED to see the carnage of “Screw You” , but seriously... it didn’t affect the race imo.
I could be wrong, lol.
If anyone disagrees..
SCREW YOU!

Some serious arm chair quarterbacking going on around here. I love when clowns who struggle to do 5 laps at their local chicken licks raceway criticize professional athletes and situations they've never been in with absolutely no reference except the shit they see on TV.

Right on Shawn!
They just cut it for TV so no surprises pop up during the rain, they didn't know if the rain was going to get worst or what nothing more than that and no big conspiracies about it being too hard..LOL! and it was a Great race
anyway! AND the riders today are about the same as years passed, you get your guys that work hard and get in great shape and there are others that the only workout they do is to drink a lot of beer/party, SAME as ALWAYS and days past! It always shows in the races who does what...I worked and helped out at Husqvarna International Training Center in early 70's with Rolf and the guys and believe me there where a LOT or riders in World Class GREAT shape and were very very serious students of the technical part of the racing/riding game! AND a lot of them where just your normal LOCAL riders Beginner/ Novice/Amature from around the world and where NOT just the Pros. It was a competition everyday to see just how hard or long we could work out especially when Howerton or someone would show up during the week to workout and or to get a bike/parts or meetings.
The bad thing today has been the internet/PHONES, that gives so many people that just cant shut up a way to spread there noise even when they have no idea about what they are talking about(other than what they have seen on the TV), YES we had the same kind of lames back then too but we didn't have the internet where any old weirdo can let there view be heard by SO MANY people weather they are right or wrong. AND that lets these people that know very little talk like they are some expert that has been everywhere and has done everything THEN that makes these little guys start to feel really good about themselves and they get this delusion that they really do know everything! Lets face it, it takes a real disciplined smart MAN to admit they don't know everything or to keep there trap shutDry when they should be reading instead of typing/talking! BUT one thing about it we will always have to put up with your runt of the mill loud Woohoo mouthed, cry baby know-it-all! BUT hopefully we will always have great MOTOCROSS on TV

ANYWAY lighten UP and have fun and go roost someone instead!

Politics......what if Marvin or Eli can't climb a hill in the mud as good as old ass Hannah on a 125?

That up and downhill make motocross cool.

Cut out the best part of the track. I've never been there in person and I can understand Pro Motocross not wanting their points leaders and privateers alike stuck in the pit of misery. That being said, I have no problem seeing who builds the most reliable equipment when put to the test.

The 1st lap it took Hannah 3 tries to get up the screw you hill. It was a disaster section.

It is steep. Very steep. Uncomfortable to stand on for more than 15 minutes steep.
