HRC Honda turned up at Matterley Basin British MXGP with their full 8 wheeler set up, two trucks, four HRC technicians flown in from Japan but NO riders!Shocked
We know the luckless Max Nagel is out with injuries sustained in a practice track crash but Russian rider Evgeny Bobryshev has been refused a visa to enter Britain for this weekend's MXGP.
Speaking to HRC race boss Roger Harvey, he said " Bobby" applied a month ago for a travel visa, went to the British Embassy in Moscow but it was refused!
Perhaps annexing Crimea wasn't a good idea by the Russians.Wink
Ironically fellow Russian rider Alex Tonkov was granted a visa, go figure!

Maybe Bobby has a record of some sort? Could be something as small as a car accident where someone got injured.

The Russian bank Invest Trade Bank was Bobby's personal sponsor until 2013. Maybe the connection is still there?

Uk law isn't that stupid so it's highly doubtful.

WHAT AN INSANE SCENARIO though. FFS this world gets worse.

I doubt very much it's politically driven, there are higher profile Russians than Bobby.

Yes I think we can count most governments in this statement.

Wonder if they will grab a British rider on the bike for the weekend, someone like Brad Anderson, or one of the other Honda riders racing the British championship.

guess qualifying is on now so I should go check the results

I'm sure Bobby didn't authorize the Crimea operation, and I do understand the sanctions thing, but if a country is going to deny entrance to a professional rider in an established series, then that country shouldn't be allowed to host said race.
That's my opinion on the matter.
