Same gear ratio, which one should I choose

I have to make my choice between two differents sprocket size. Both have the same gear ratio. Which one should I choose.

1st choice
front : 13
rear : 52

2nd choice
front : 12
rear : 48

So both have the same gear ratio. But is there a reason for choosing one setting more than the other?

Bigger sprocket would put less stress on the chain id imagine. Smaller ones would be lighter - altho its probably neglegible.

12T might saw thru the chain slider more easily.
Bigger is better.

Bigger = less rotations = less wear
If it's the same ratio going the same speed, the rotations will be the same. Every time the wheel turns one time, the sprocket turns one time no matter the size.

13/52 - easier on the chain and the chain buffer on the swingarm will last longer.

I’m on 12/48 on my 125 and love how little wear I get as I was concerned when swapping from the 13t. My 450 at 13t ate my slides and drivetrain twice as quick.
I kinda think my handling is better with the 12t on the front.. plecbo maybe?
Also my back wheel spins for ages with both sprockets so I don’t think the minute angle the chain turns extra affects it all.

Your 450 ate the drivetrain twice as quick because it makes twice the power...

Yes definitely and that should also be a factor if the original poster is on a lower powered bike. I love how I don’t have to adjust my chain barely even with a 12 on a front which theoretically should add some wear, which in my case doesn’t.
