Stewart is just too fast for anyone to handle, and Dungey doesn't need to beat him to win the title. It's pretty easy to figure out how it's likely to end.

Dungey is on a roll. He would take them both.

You are right, it is too late in the season for Stewart to win the Championship but I want to know who everyone thinks is the fastest rider now? It could be Dungey?

I agree Dungey will be smart and win championships rather than win motos. That being said I think Dungey will have something for JS.

Stewart hasnt raced in 7 months and even then Dungy was right on his rear fender. Stewart has not raced the Yamaha outdoors ever that I know of as well. I would imagine he'd be STOKED for a podium but i think top 5 is more realistic

Stewart would have to actually race a national for this to matter.

After RD wraps up the C ship early we may get to see a real battle from the #5 and #7

Yup no outdoor races on a Yamaha yet and his last outdoor race was actually the September 2008 MXDN in England.

He should be super fast but I would think it will take a few tries before he could dominate again.

If stewie finishes the race I would go out on a limb and say he will have no trouble with top five.

We are talking about how far up he would lap right?

I really wouldn't bet against Dungey right now. For starters, he is kicking ass this year, but he also came close to beating Bubba at A1. I think he knows already he is beatable. Also Bubba has completed what, 4 races in 18 months? Then factor in ridiculous pressure from all directions... If he comes back for 4 races my moneys on Dunge.. Over a full season would be a different story.

I think you are right unless Bubba starts racing soon he will not win. As a former motocross racer I know what happens when you sit at home for 6-8 months and not race or ride. You loose your speed and fitness, no doubt about it. Bubba really needs to step up soon or else!

LOL!! Short has passed Stewart how many times in his career. He has never raced Stewart tough for 2 corners in his life. Dungey on the other hand has had to battle him for 10 to 15 min to get around him a few times this yr.

IMO, Dungey stands a 0.0% chance against James Stewart. But that does not take away what Dungy has done in the last yr. Dungey has been amazing!! He is the best guy racing right now. Theres no doubt about it.

Dungey seems to struggle with his pace early. But does not seem to have an issue riding someone elses pace. He is in shape, so he's stronger at the end. Pure speed, nobody matches James, but I think RD might win a moto or two (or more)

The only real challenging obstacles to bubba on the track are the riders standing still.

It might take James a little bit to get into race shape, but once he does it's on.

stewart said he makes more money racing the Dade City Mx series than he does racing the outdoor nationals.....so dont expect to see him there!

Oh how quickly you guys forget..

How many times has James been beat "straight up" by anyone besides Da' Goat?

If he doesn't crash, he wins. This is how it's always been.

This is because Dungey is a SMART rider with good coaching/team management. Bubba can be really fast at times, but there is a reason why he has only finished about 4 races in the last 18 months. Dungey can be really fast, but is more cool and calculated in his riding style. Bubba rides like his pants are on fire and he has to either finish the race or stop, drop, and roll to put them out. I think trying to compare the riding styles is a gross mistake.

All I know is once both are back racing and 100% healthy along with RV2, Canard, and CP, it's gonna be really interesting - and entertaining. People are going to be wondering if Bubba lost his edge or if the field is just catching up. I can assure you it will be the result of a better group of riders around him. I predict Bubba will find his speed once again, be fast as hell but get pushed more than he ever has - to the point of even more crashes.......and as a result, more time off......which will suck........
