The Supermotocross in Germany this Saturday at the VELTINS-Arena is very hyped by Youthstream. But will they have a packed house? It's already clear that they won't use all tribunes and seats. And if we look at the pictures then the stadium is at the moment configured at 45.000 seats and 17.000 standing places. But with already one tribune after that big black cloth, I ask myself: how many people do they expect? And will this, like MXLarge tells us, be the 'Race of the Century' or will it be the 'Fail of the century'?
PS: If they convert the standing places to seats it becomes a stadium from about 54000 seats.

SX should stay in America in my opinion

This is just a moneygrabbing event. Don't fool yourselves and visit a local race instead.
Edit:
A sign ticket sale doesn't work out as planned:
"As a special offer anyone who buys a ticket to the Monster Energy SMX Riders’ Cup will receive FREE admission to one of the world’s most popular motorcycle exhibitions ‘INTERMOT’ which will be taking place less than one hour away, in Cologne, Germany"
Most likely Dungey and Musquin doesn't need to give 100% and they could still be pretty competitive.
Wondering what kind of factory bonuses are on the line? I would assume that at least same than regular SX race.
So then winner would get 50.000 from Youthstream and 100.000 from manufacturer, so it's pretty decent payday.
And even if Dungey and Musquin wouldn't be so interested in that, there is plenty of others willing to give 100% and more for that kind of reward.
It's a little bit different story compered for example to MXoN where people go to ride for free. And even there most people are willing to give their all and more...
Are there any bonuses? Has anyone even read something about that? Maybe by the manufacturers, but don't get your hopes up. I doubt that there are Japanese who have difficulties to sleep at night wondering if their brand will do good at this so called "race of the century".
Face it, MX will remain a small sport seen worldwide in the eyes of the manufacturers.
And it's not a race. It's a show.
