Maybe a stupid question... I might single handedly keep maxima in business by the amount of SC-1 I use but I just wanted to see if anyone notices any difference when applied to the actual main part of the tire itself (not the sidewall). Makes the bike look 10x better in the garage but will the actually allow you lose any traction or does it wear off the second it touches dirt? Broke a collar bone at perris the other day and I have no idea how I ended up on the ground. Just trying to exhaust all of my options before i narrow it down to me just being not good
The Shop
Love the stuff and the smell
2. SC1 is recommended for cleaning MTB forks to keep stiction to a minimum.
I buy it by the case at my local shop. It’s gets used just as much as Wd-40 and brake cleaner at my shop.
For sure sc-1 on tires is notorious for being an additional cause of injury or crashing. I know this because everytime I have crashed it has been wiped all over my bike the night before. ??
Smells different though. May be a deal breaker for some
Pit Row
I did however recently buy a case from motosport, and while packaged and shipped well, 3 of the cans were about 1/2 gone! No leaks and still had good pressure, but defiantly light! Motosport made it right, so no biggie. Just hope this was a fluke...
Handle grips
Tires
Foot pegs
Brake and clutch levers
Lube my cables with it
Even use it as premix in a pinch..
Did I mention, I crash a lot
