Maybe a stupid question... I might single handedly keep maxima in business by the amount of SC-1 I use but I just wanted to see if anyone notices any difference when applied to the actual main part of the tire itself (not the sidewall). Makes the bike look 10x better in the garage but will the actually allow you lose any traction or does it wear off the second it touches dirt? Broke a collar bone at perris the other day and I have no idea how I ended up on the ground. Just trying to exhaust all of my options before i narrow it down to me just being not good Wink

I do the same thing. SC-1 is gone rather quickly on the track.

I need to buy stock with you! I use almost a half to 3/4 of a can per bike! Yes I use it on the sidewalls!

You might of over-applied, getting on the grips, causing slippage over the jump.

My dad sprayed it on his tires, rode up the ramp into the back of his El Camino, couldn't stop and smashed the rear window. Nice work Mike. Never letting it down

I would blame the SC-1 for sure. That stuff is like the Griswold Christmas Vacation sled lube.....it'll kill ya.

1. We learned not to “ArmourAll” the seat in the ‘70s (sliding off the back of a YZ80D in my case.)
2. SC1 is recommended for cleaning MTB forks to keep stiction to a minimum.

I use SC1 on f*cking everything. It works really well on vehicle interiors, and also to bring the shine back to grey, plastic bumpers. And it smells amazing.

I buy it by the case at my local shop. It’s gets used just as much as Wd-40 and brake cleaner at my shop.

Haven't used it since 2011 (no bike) but can still smell it... Mmmmmm, bubblegummy. I've gotta go get some more.

Has anyone tried Bel-Ray Silicone Detailer and Protectant? I use SC1 myself, just curious on any differences.

I use it, and I like LucasOil tire detailer as well. The Lucas stuff is more than half the cost. Tip: for seats and grips use wd-40, it cleans, but dries and does not stay slick.
For sure sc-1 on tires is notorious for being an additional cause of injury or crashing. I know this because everytime I have crashed it has been wiped all over my bike the night before. ??

Use this while washing the bike. It cleans the dirt off the tire but doesn’t leave the tire shiny or slick.

I bought some after the last can of SC1 ran out. It works about the same. Maybe not quite as glossy, but it does the job.

Smells different though. May be a deal breaker for some Wink

I have a sliding glass door that gets sticky, sc1 fixes it right up. Don’t get it on linoleum though. As you can imagine, it’s bad news.

LOVE SC-1!

I did however recently buy a case from motosport, and while packaged and shipped well, 3 of the cans were about 1/2 gone! No leaks and still had good pressure, but defiantly light! Motosport made it right, so no biggie. Just hope this was a fluke...

Spray it on my seat
Handle grips
Tires
Foot pegs
Brake and clutch levers
Lube my cables with it
Even use it as premix in a pinch..
Did I mention, I crash a lot

I like others use it on all kinds of stuff. Wipe my truck Interior down with it and it doubles as an air freshener

I just use it under my fenders and on my skid plate to ward off mud.
