After listening to Ryno's interview on the Whiskey throttle show, I thought to myself, damn this guy would make an awesome color commentator for SX.
I'm not a Ryno super fan or anything, but he's honestly one of the most articulate guys I've listened to in the sport. His knowledge about the sport is almost second to none when it comes to why someone is doing something on a motorcycle and his first hand experience of running a team and training riders would provide some useful insight.
Most importantly, I really think he would speak his mind and call the riders out when he needs to.

negative for a color commentator though.
I've met him, and he's actually a really nice guy. I like him (even if he is a bit loony on some topics....)
BUT, for a motocrosser he was the most articulate, passionate guy who could speak without "hmm" and "oh" and "ah" as I have ever come across. He knows his stuff. If you asked a question, he had an answer and could articulate that answer with good speaking and English.
"BRO, what's your problem?"

Ryan actually did do a small amount of color commentary, he comments on the broadcast for one of the 250cc class motos at the 2000 Unadilla national. There is a funny point where Robby Reynard waves someone by and Ryno talks how he just "sickened" by it.
Post a reply to: Ryno as a color commentator, what do you think?
