Most don't count 250 SX titles as they are a regional championship.

Pardon me while I take that asterisk out of you hand and stomp on it. He won a million races, he's a sponsor's dream, and a good all around dude...what else do you want? He can't control who is on the track with him.

Wouldn't that make "bunny" a better choice?

This thread reminds me of the "big bang" episode where Howard tries to get people to call him rocketman" but ends up "fruit loops"

I know you can't see who downvoted you. . . but I wanted it to be known that I was one of them. Not because I'm a Dungey fanboy, but because you're a tool.

Nicknames. Some of them makes sense: Bubba was called that since he was kid; the GOAT is self-explanatory and well earned; BamBam infamously also earned his name. Then there are really dumb ones that just get pulled out of left field. I mentioned sometime last year that I wonder if the announcers are encouraged to come up with them. I think the worst one currently going is when GL continues to push (every.single.weekend) his Eli "the Shark" Tomac thing. It's made even worse by the fact that he can't stay away from ridiculous metaphors like "he smells blood in the water." Uh, no Grant, he's just the fastest guy on the track and trying to win the race. He's also from Colorado, home of zero anything-that-lives-in-the-sea. Halfway through the first moto at Washougal, GL will drop some reference to Shark Week. Stamp it.

Some of these dudes seem to embrace their names, though. BB named his training compound "El Chupacabra Ranch". JA is selling clothes based on his "El Hombre" name - where did that one come from, btw? And now A-mart has "Troll" shirts.

You realize Dungey did train under Aldon right? I'm not saying that means he was or was not on "the special sauce" but he certainly trained under Aldon for a number of his championships to end his career.

And the testing procedures changed at the end of 2014 I believe
