No doubt. It's really hard to beat a guy like that for a championship.

When you consider McGrath and RC didn't achieve that stat it puts the accomplishment into a whole new light.

Not to mention how stacked the field is that he's up against. Poor Reed had a bad night, went down on the start and lost his record 20 laps later.

When you consider the accomplishments of McGrath and RC this "whole new light" looks pretty dim.

Ryan Dungey is amazing for his achievements, but that comparison to give him more credibility is silly.

26 consecutive podium finishes!......."pretty dim?"...."that comparison to give him more credibility is silly?".......WTF?

Try and consider how different racers go about their careers, racing strategies and accomplishments. I was not slighting RD at all.

If you weren't intending to slight him, probably be a good idea to choose a different adjective than 'dim'.

25 straight 1st or 2nds in the premier class. Let that sink in. When I do, it seems more 'bright' to me.

I was making a reference to the comparison and wording in the post, not to Ryan Dungey. Since some have taken offense, my apologies.

The entire point was the wording. The poster wasn't comparing their careers, they were saying that even the greats such as McGrath and RC didn't accomplish what Dungey has in regards to a podium streak which just goes to show how amazing an accomplishment it is.

I couldn't believe RV2's streak was only 11. Still impressive I just thought it would be higher.

Dungey will finish out the season with a podium every race. Stamped.

Dungey's podium streak will stand the test of time like MC's 72 wins. I think both will be untouchable. I think Fish is right in that it wouldn't surprise anyone here to see Dungey podium out the season. Crazy good.

I wonder what becomes of all of this in '17...'18...

Ryan Dungey is still "young".
Ryan Dungey is still "Evolving".
Ryan Dungey still has PLENTY of Time to make and break records.
Ryan Dungey ain't done.

This guy may end up with more titles than some of us can comprehend.
It all depends on how long he decides to stay in it.

Try this: What happens if he says, "Ya know, I think I want to go to Europe for a coupl'a years."

Totally right teamgreen. As long he stays in it, stays hungry for more, stays with his training, Dungey is going to rack up some pretty crazy records. With respect to your suggestion about Europe, wouldn't that be delicious?? Talk about putting a stamp on a career!!!

Oh, yeah, and stays with KTM!!

26 straight 1st, 2nd, or 3rd's.

He only had 20 straight 1st/2nd place finishes.

*only* 20 straight 1st or 2nd place finishes.

Even with dominant riders like RC and RV, they still seemed to have one race a year where they had a mechanical issue or first turn pile up. Those are amazing stats RD has put up. Even more amazing when you think it could continue for god knows how long to come.
