This wasn't press day TeamGreen, it was closed practice for the pre-entered pros to shake down their bikes and ride without having to work about amateur traffic out there at the same time. It's optional, and we've done it the last few years.

Hmm, judging by my arm chair. His front tire pressure looks about 1.3lbs off, the front end rebound seems too fast, compression is soft and he looks fat. He will be lucky if he makes the top 20.

I'm saying press day in the title cause it'll make more sense for goggle search/SEO purposes. Laughing

It's been said...and I believe it...that you don't lose speed (until you get really old), just fitness. So I think we will see Dungey's old speed...not taking gate drops for several years and running race pace, and if he has the fitness to do it will be determined on saturday.

So hard to tell from blip clips... Someone had a stopwatch, remarkable that we can't get a single post on the lap times.

Looked like Sexton was speed demon in the tiny little bits I could see.

Just like every year, why is nearly every corner flat? Does Pala just not have enough dirt to make berms?

Also, thanks ML for uploading so quickly!

Very solid. I felt like Anderson and Sexton had a little more top-end speed in a few situations. But Dungey did a ton of laps and just looked like his old solid self.

Someone who looked visually rough today was Cairoli. He rode very few laps, rolled around a lot and seemed to be pulling in quite a bit and actually exited one of the sessions early. I only have a few clips of him due to this. Crossing my fingers he's feeling it more come race day.

He did a lot of laps. Looks good.

His Corners looked smooth, better than he did in that clip a couple weeks back.

He did a TON of laps, that's for sure. He just kept chugging away...like a diesel ha!

Who beats him?

- Tomac
- Anderson
- Sexton
- Ferrandis
- Roczen?

I see him around 4-5 to start the season then creeping up as he gets more races back under his belt.

While I won’t claim to predict him going out and finishing on the podium, at the same time it wouldn’t really surprise me either. He’s that solid of a racer, and if anyone were to come back like he hadn’t missed a beat then it would be him.

Well, that was cool!

Gear was on point as well! Dig the hell out of retro gear!

Can’t wait to see how he shakes out on Saturday.

See you there!

If he flows like that for 30 plus 2 he will be fine and will humble a lot of “active” pros IMO.

Dungey will be a race winner & title contender. Just wanted to state that in case I need to back up my I told you so's. The talk of his consistency "The Diesel " always bugged me. Ryan Dungey was and I'm sure still is about speed! He was always consistent because he just wasn't a guy that pushed his limits. I think he's one of those guys that can't hardly make himself push his limits even when he wants to. To ride well within your limits and rack up wins and championships against the best in the world pushing their limits, you gotta be one fast mother f'er. Hope to watch you live at Lakewood #5.

Cairoli didn't look comfortable at Perris.

I think he's going to struggle more than people think.

The funny thing is that even in his prime championship winning days, dungey never “looked” fast. He has always been fast though. Look at Barcia, he always looks like he’s flying but ends up not being the fastest. I’d say in that video you wouldn’t be able to tell if it’s been 5 years or 5 months since his last gate drop. He looks great. Excited to see how it goes, nothing but positives for him being out there as far as fans go.

Pala is probably one of the tracks that highlights the difference in Euro vs AMA tracks, high speed and big jumps. if the first round was Unadilla or Washougal I'm sure he wouldn't be anywhere near as nervous. I think its Argentina that is big and fast and he is not up front in those races. As a MX fan , its defiantly a bummer not to see him shine, it really what Pro Motocross needs right now.
