A recently conducted telephone poll (that was unfortunately incomplete due to a dead battery) produced the following results:

In the survey of approx 500,000 motorcycle enthusiast worldwide:

Number of enthusiast that knew a MX National was taking place at Hangtown = 100,000

Number of MX enthusiast that would choose to go ride instead of watching others ride = 470,000

Number that actually attended Hangtown = 20,000

Number that sat at home on a beautiful weekend to watch live action via Internet or TV = 10,000

Number that witnessed excellent live first moto coverage = 10,000

Number that realized 2nd motos were not going to be streamed and decided to get off their asses and go do something worthwhile on a Saturday = 9,970

Number that threw shitfits and proceeded to light up Internet message boards and claim DC is a piece of shit intent on ruining the sport of MX and sabotaged the broadcast on purpose by running down his cellphone battery by watching too much porn = 30

Number that believe "heads should fly over this fiasco" = 30

Percentage of those 30 who are members of Vital MX = 100%

Conclusion - you bitchers need to get off the energy drinks and relax

do you wait around for someone or 30 some ones to tell you your shits broken before you fix it? pretty sure he didn't check vital to see if it was working or worth fixing, all dependant on the number of bitchers, before he started acting on it...

I have nothing against Davey (Coombs?), actually it is the contrary as he does a great job and sometimes sh.. happens. On a positive note, it is also because they have a great race coverage with great commentators that people get mad when they cannot see it anymore.

The point is average MX customers are more easily upset to feel like cash cows, especially since the youthstream hold up (or the french MX licence, $350/+20% a year for nothing, as you must pay the track entry too) and here the provider question was just like putting oil on fire. After some difficulties to see the first 2 races (international link needed...), I was even not surprised that it was not working anymore as I am like the black cloud for this broadcasting company/conglomerate. I will not going into details but everything I used to watch had to be fixed so ... I started to think that the magic was back Smile

Back to the Youthstream example: so far I was paying $200 a year to access a few. channels mainly to get motors tv, which as everybody know is also broadcasting the MX GP. About 1 week before the GP season starts, motors tv got cancelled without notice from this offer, and Motors TV signed an exclusity agreement with only 1 provider in France. What do I do? Do I have to pay like 3 months the cable channels before the direct debit stops, so $50, then pay another $180 mainly to Luongo & friends? In other words should I pay 15% more that season while I lose about 20 channels? Thanks technology, it brings progress to people, which is why I decided not to pay anything.

On a more general note, that is why people tend to be upset more easily; each piece of the economy is a scam, for instance now fridges or LED screens last 5 years, or never bring a car for maintenance if you do not know personally the guy who will work on it.

Hey, I cancelled a concrete job for Friday because the weatherman said there was like a 90%
chance of rain.

It didn't rain Friday.

Who do I see about that?

Is that Coombs fault also?

You sir are an idiot! Nationals are getting better every year with less top riders choosing to ride sx only. We could get longo to take over and have only 20 riders on the gate.....

Maybe it will be better for the sport. Killed the sport through 4-strokes and horrible TV coverage. C'mon, really?

I wasn't and am still NOT angry with Davey. The scheduled program maybe should of had the fine print read a little better.....but it boils down to Comcast/NBCSC vs Direct Tv ( and a few other providers ). I can't remember exactly what it was....but Direct TV and Comcast/NBCSC have had a long going feud. Any time those two outfits have to work together....one of them always gets screwed some how.

Not Davey's fault.....and i am sure he is as bummed as us that the motos didn't get delivered to the majority of us. He'll make it right.

Of all theories, this makes the most sense so far. I can say I would give anything for an abbreviated 2 hour version of the outdoor races on SPEED. I don't care if it is a day or two after, that would solve about every problem. Granted, folks would complain about it not being full length, but you can't please everyone.

Does anyone know if they're gonna do the cable provider sign in thing again? I cancelled my cable after SX ended... All I was using it for was SX, didnt seem practical to keep paying for it.
