Yep..Roczen was 13 seconds ahead of Musquin and 22 seconds ahead of 3rd place Herlings.. He put a hurting on the field.
MX1 was similar. Nagl was gone to. Nagl was some 10 sec clear of the field in mx1.

Don't know. Not sure but from Jimmy's fast lap it looked like he was 5-6 sec a lap off the pace.

I'm like 99% sure Nagl is on the KTM 450, Tony was saying the 350 was at a disadvantage on this circuit.

Are they only having 1 qualifying race for each class or is this a combination of both qualifying moto's ?

I can't see why the 350 would be a disatvantage though, cause the MX2 guys seems to run just as fast lap times as the boys in the MX1 class?

You're right. The top mx2 guys were over a second faster then the top mx 1 guys. But what Tony is talking about is all the hills on the Bulgaria track. Although it sounds like from what I read Tony past Desalle going up one of the big hills so who knows..From the pics I saw its like GH in the sense that you're either going down a hill or up a hill around every corner.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that it's like GH

That's why I just said in the sense that you're going up or down hills. No track is as extreme as GH. I just meant it looked like there were allot of hills.

Hmm i like what i see...
All three top spots of the different classes show a german rider.
But tomorrow will be another day, some more motos to go and a lot guys (and girls in WMX) are capable of winning. Would be awesome for me if the winners tomorrow are the same as today. Cant wait for the livestream!!

Funny thing is, there are just three german riders in the field (Nagl in MX1; Roczen and Schiffer in MX2). We dont have a wide range of fast riders, but the ones we have are damn fast this year. I wonder where the "average" GP-Speed-Riders are in Germany...we dont have any of them.

The field is very very deep, Jimmy cold get 10th or 17th and be riding about the same speed.

Roczen is looking good, impressed with Herlings too, looking forward to the racing tomorrow!

Yep---Germany flat out dominated yesterday.. Germany is on both poles and Sefy Laier the German girl whooped the girls by 18 seconds in the first moto of the girls...If I was German I'd be feeling pretty damn good after the first Saturday at the GP's..

Not sure why you would say that. Glen Helen is definately rough by US standards but doesnt hold a candle to some of the hell on earth stuff those GP riders go thru.

Hartebreak.. I agree with the fact that GP tracks have been way rougher then most AMA tracks but Glen Helen was as rough as 99% of the GP tracks last year. The only GP track that was way rougher then GH was Lierop. That track is a beast. I remember thinking while watching it that I'd have to train for a 2 lap race there. Every other ama track besides GH were freeways in comparison the GP tracks. Also when drawing your comparison take in mind the hills at GH and how much going up and down those beasts takes out of you. If you've never been to GH you can't grasp how big they are. Pictures and TV don't get close to showing how big they are either. The braking bumps going down them alone will drain the common man.

Whats crazy is that has gone full circle in the last 10 yrs or so. I remember it used to be the exact opposite. Back in the day the GPs were allot smoother and worked on more then the AMA tracks. For some reason the ama and whatever promoters have decided doing track work after every moro has made for better racing and TV viewing. I totally disagree and wish they'd stop working on the tracks after every moto.

I used to live in Apple Valley before moving to Oregon, I have been to many races at GH. It definately is rough but to say the GP riders are going to hate GH is a bit of a stretch. Kinda miss the GH nats, now I only get the one at Shougs, and from what Im hearing Shougs may be on its way out too.

I agree with that too. A good portion of Viatl posters have never watched a GP race and have no respect for the GP series. If the person that posted that had ever watched a GP they would know better. The GP promoters pride themselves in rough tracks. they do very little if any work on the track all weekend long. If the guy that posted that GH will be rougher then what GP riders are used to is reading this he should click the link I'm putting in this post. I don't think the GP riders will hate GH. In fact I think the exact opposite. I think they'll love the place. I read some comments from various GP riders that say they are very much looking forward to it.

Here's a real mx track. As rough as it gets. Here's the 2nd mx2 moto at Lierop. Remember the mx 1 second moto was after this with no track work. I couldn't find mx 1 moto 2 though.

That is certainly a rough track but it is sand....

can't really be compared to GH, IMO
