Can’t remember where I heard it from or if it was just someone just talking but I heard that rockstar is leaving the sport since being bought by Pepsi and they don’t really care to go racing. Wondering if there was any truth to this?

Rockstar leaving (who had stifling branding requirements for teams and riders) might actually be a good thing.
Perhaps the threat of this brand leaving will force promoters and teams to reevaluate how to attract sponsors. (Specifically source out the people at the top who think MX/SX is cool.) Maybe start with Suzuki. haha
From a branding/ advertising standpoint, these brands can get far more reach with social media, SEO, and other digital channels. Get someone at the top that thinks the sport is cool, they'll find the money to be a part of it. (You think Petronas, BWT, ARAMCO, and others are sponsors in F1 and MotoGP because of reach? haha)
The energy drink market is worth $80b annually, and though it is heavily saturated with brands, Rockstar is still the third-largest in market share.
Though, the high percent of increase is mainly due to them being a penny stock when they went public 20+ years ago.
