The live timing says it's 26th May?

The live timing is from Calgary, isn't this weekend Popkum?

Practice and qualifying sessions (not all of them) have run, no results.

Edit: Now showing as Popkum/correct date etc.

The announcers need to step their game up. The Popkum track needs to be off the schedule next year in my opinion.

Bullshit move by Goerke on Thompson.

Very narrow. Great practice track....really cramped for 40 riders at once

Colt is on another levelw00t w00t

Great ride by Jake Nicholls. With the rumors of Colton Facciotti hanging up the boots after the season it wouldn't surprise me if Derek hires Jake to replace him next year.

Came in hurt last year and got going towards the end of the series. Came in healthy this year and it shows. Pumped to see Colt riding the way he knows how.

First time I saw him ride was in Joliette, Quebec when he was 14 riding a KX 250 for the Richmond Kawasaki team. I think that was back in 2004 or so. He was one of if not the most stylish rider on the track and that hasn't changed.

He's a no-brainer for our MXdN team effort. I say we send Colt,Thompson/Benoit and Pettis.

@malachi177

Is Popkum a local track for you? Looks like they put in a ton of work but even then I think it shouldn't be part of the national schedule. Looks very tight and twisty. Spectator area seems limited to one side of the track. That said it does look pretty fun as a practice track.

Its local for me. They put in a lot of work the last 3 weeks. Track layout changed twice and brought in more dirt. I agree that it shouldn't be on the schedule tho. Super tight track with one line for the most part. However, I ride their pretty much every weekend and enjoy it.

They did a great job with it, the racing was good. Kamloops is a better track for this level of race but thwy did a great job making the most of what they have to work with. Spectating was good, you could see almost the whole track from the top of the hill before thw finish line. I enjoyed watching from the corner after the finish line. I loved watching the guys launching the big double out of that corner, the 450’s could barely clear it, I was amazed that Pettis and Osby were doing it on 250’s at the beginning of moto 1.

Not local per say. I'm in Victoria. So its a ferry ride and a little over an hr drive depending on traffic.

Colton used to show up in monroe Wa. back in the early years for some arenacross and just shred his KX. Which also makes me wonder what ever happened to Kyle Beaton? He would destroy Hannegan speedway in Bellingham to.

I believe Beaton quit racing professionally after a set of injuries. I think he's a heavy equipment operator now.

Nasty sport we love here but good to hear he was able to move on healthy.

Beaton was there Friday night for the Shift Holeshot challenge. He was runner up and you are correct, he no longer races professional and he is a heavy equipment operator. He does allot of the riding schools that Futurewest Moto puts on along with the Newf Ryan Lockhart.

Beats also does some coaching for some lucky kids when he has time. He has his KBR training school/coaching.

Oh and Popkum Motorpark just announced today on their Instagram that they have signed an agreement to host another Triplecrown round the first weekend of June 2019.

Rumour is a government grant of high, high dollars filled the pockets to allow the facility to do some significant upgrades.
Track went away as the day went on, which made for a gigantic dust bowl at the end of the day. Way too many ambulance calls, hoping they take forward all the lessons learned for next year.

I only caught the final two motos of the day on Saturday. I know there was a red flag that delayed the race for a while but didn't know they received many ambulance calls. That's never a good thing to hear.

Hope the person that caused the red flag isn't in any serious condition.

Dust was a big problem and that was obvious to see even on the stream. Need to better manage the day.
