I ran that VIN through my system at work (I'm an insurance agent) and it said that that is not a valid VIN

I have had two 01s and now have an 02 RM125. I love them and haven't had any problems. I had a 96 RM125 that had a tranny go, but nothing with the 01/02s. I know you will likely want a newer one, but even these older ones are great bikes. Got my last 2 blown-up from CL for about $500 and redid everything from ground up for about $1000.

I have a 2005 Yamaha YZ-125 that is the best and most reliable motorcycle I have ever owned. Buy a 2005 or newer YZ-125 and you will be glad you did. I am 56 and have owned a lot of motorcycles in my life. Honda and Yamaha are the best quality motorcycles in my opinion. I also worked in the motorcycle industry for 30 years.
Anytthing is better than a CR125.

Just lately found myself looking at rm125's.
My last exsperiance was with a 3month 03 old at the the time and it shit the gearbox, so sold it .i keep hearing stories "chocolate gearboxes" . And never touched one since.
The only one I would consider is an 08, as they were the last models, so if I only rode it 3 times a year, it's not loosing money.
Btw they seem to be a lot cheaper than yz' and cr's ....how come ?

So what are the 08's impaticular like,
How can I tell the year, is buy frame no digit

What's your thoughts lads
08 is an awesome bike. Nothing handles better than an RM125. Nothing. They are unbelievable bikes for cornering. 04-08 are very similar other than minor details. 08 should have Showa suspension which is better than the KYB stuff on the 04 that I used to have. With a 144 big bore these bikes are a hoot.

Suzukis have had a rep for being the worst brand bikes for a long time. that even bleeds into the streetbike scene. Its not totally true, but its why theyre cheap. I wouldnt touch a zook at all. Theyre hard to sell.

Want to do something cool? Get a cr or a kx 125 and do a 2018 conversion on them.
You win the dumbass award of the day. Good work! Takes a lot to win that award on the internet.

Suzuki two strokes are NOT hard to sell. I bought an 05 RM250 for $2700 in 2008. Sold it two years ago for $3500. That was my asking price. The guy tried to negotiate and I just said "you know how rare they are in good shape take it or leave it" and he said "yea, you're right, here's 3500". Seems to me that you are incorrect thinking they are hard to sell.

Cheap? LOL. Find me a cheap late model RM250 or RM125 in good shape. Not gonna happen. The folks that have them will never give them up unless it is for primo dollars.

I loved my 03 RM125. The only thing I'd do if I still had it would be to 144 kit it. Super bike.

Who did your number plate backgrounds? The carry over to the air box and the slight black on the bottom makes these!!

You know the pro side of the sport is fucked when the most popular thread on the most popular board 3 weeks before the start of the season is about 15 year old bikes they don't make anymore.

This speaks volumes of the "brain trust" of the those making decisions about this sport.

Decalworks did the plate graphics. It's one of their stock styles - I think its the T-2....

He's come back to me with JS1RF16A 000 503524. , said he checked with Suzuki and was told it's an 07

I may be wrong, but his vin would be an 05?

Had a 2001 Rm125 and an '02 Rm125. The 2002 is still to this day my favorite bike.
