Ricky IS someone's 41 year-old dad, and Jeremy is someone's 49 year-old dad. What's the problem with that?

They just always look like they are driving their daughters to prom.

Well, they do both have daughters at or approaching high school age.

I understand from several of your other posts that you are young, and I’m very glad young riders like you are interested in this wonderful sport. A word of wisdom from a +35 vet guy....go watch some of McGrath’s races from the 1990’s era supercross series’. You will see why he’s had that namesake for a while.....And watch some of RC’s races as well. And while you are basking in the era of awesomeness, pay attention to Cooper, Emig, Reynard, LaRocco, Windham, Dowd, Henry, Lusk, Ward, Bradshaw, Tortelli, Albertyn, and so many more. Then go back into the 1980s racing era...Johnson, Bayle, Stanton,...many of these guys transcended decades.....and the list goes on. I’ve got on a tangent....but moto history is amazing. Take time to soak it in, and take years to learn about it, and keep learning about it. Understanding why MC has been labeled the King of SX is one of the many marks in our sport that you will better understand.
Glad you are on the board, now go get learning. 👍🏻

MC back in the day - Holeshot, then run and hide, then win by 10 seconds.... he did it 72 times!

back then most guys simply couldn't go hard for the entire race... MC would holeshot, get a big lead, then put in it cruise mode.... people talk about "racecraft"..... MC was the ultimate... he nearly never crashed, and he always dealt with traffic, bad tracks, bad starts, in the best possible manner....

hey young fella... learn your history before making wise ass comments, might go a long way for your 40 or 50ish something father to make a decision to buy you that new bike you keep asking about in your random threads.

Nope... I cannot relate to what you are thinking. Take some time and learn about the history of the sport. McGrath, is one of the primary reasons the sport is relatable to the casual spectator, and why you can watch the races "Live" rather than tape delayed or the following week...

The few times McGrath did get in a battle he was damn hard to pass. Rider gets to his inside and it setting up for a block pass...Jeremy just slams on the brakes, cuts under, is back inside and gone.

I think if RC goes 3 more years he gets real close, 60+. Gotta remember, he only did 7 full years in 450s (counting 99 even though he was hurt most of it). MC did 10 full years to get there.

I think Ricky woulda had a good shot in both 08 and 09 to rack up some W’s and those titles as that Suzuki was the class of the field back then.

MC is the best supercross racer of all time, it’s just fun to bench race this stuff.

RC did a full 8 years in the premier class. 1999-2006

MC did a full 10 years, 1993-2002. 72 wins within 9 years... 70 wins within 8 years.

RC was a ways off from the King.

Don’t know the exact numbers but... the sport appeared to be at its height in popularity during MC”s run. My buddies & I would gather every Saturday night to hopefully see another rider dethrone him.... MC was on top for a long time and in SX that is just unbelievable.... and yes, 125 & 250 two strokes are the best displacements for SX....

Ricky is the GOAT of motocross , not supercross. Bet it irks Jeremy just a bit. I would understand all of the goat stuff if he were announcing mx , but he’s not. Guess if you were to combine the two , he would be the goat as well.

He missed 04 with the knee, which is 7 total

Give him 3 more years at 5 wins a year he’s 60+. Not 73, but closer than 48

Unpopular opinion: Rickys wins are more impressive than MC due to the fact the majority were against Chad and James who are also at the top end of the all time wins list and arguably the toughest competition in SX history.
MC has the all time wins and is rightfully crowned the king, he DOMINATED!

Fair point.

I'd give him 1 more year to get closer to MC's 70 in 8 years. Still don't think he gets anywhere near 60. Didn't he also win a couple races in 2007 doing part time? That puts a wrench in things... Call it close to 7.5 seasons or something. Might have squeaked 2 or 3 more that year if he went full time, but Stewart was on fire.

RC with maybe 52 wins in 8 years if he did a full 2007. So... 20 more wins in 2 more years to try and match MC's 72 in 10 years. Tall order, but Stewart was injured in 2008, making wins easier to come by that year. Then Stewart is back and Reed is on the Zook and fast in 2009. Fun to think about!

Oh yeah he definetly could have broken that record or gotten very close given a few more years.

McGrath’s career was no doubt extended by going SX only, it’s no secret that McGrath relied on his natural talent a little more than RC did. (Not saying MC didn’t work hard though)

Ricky was full boar the entire time minus 04 or 05 when he was injured, if there was a race he was there and was probably gonna win it, inside or out.

But didn’t bubba miss all of either 08 or 09 SX? I think rc would get more than 5 wins a season if he kept going, espescially If he was all in 07 Rather than racing a few here and there

See I’m thinking with RC still on yellow, Chad doesn’t go there in 09. He also still has Aldon so James wouldn’t have him in 09. This is all just in the land of make believe, but like you said fun to think about!

Still on kawi with rv? That’s some serious money and talent

Stanton, bradshaw, mxKied, larocco, L.Ward ,Emig, etc could run 20 laps all out. No could match his speed the 1st 10 laps. Even in 97 Mc was fast on the RM, Indy he was so much faster. The stadium was on its feet, then his clutch is gone. Mechanic forgot the ball bearing that went in with the push rod. His mn. Win was awesome, Leean said stick around Jeremy has a surprise for you. After spraying the champagne, he gets on his bike and does countless tricks off the triples .

Hannah has some of the best interviews. His reverence for the greats built his legend / credibility. On more than one occasion, he's said if De Coster was "in his prime", the Hurricane would be fighting for 2nd. As great as Hannah was, he has that much respect. I hear the same from RC about McGrath. Doesn't take away RC's accomplishments, just adds. He respects the great history of Supercross/Motocross and knows he's one of the best ever.
