I did mine as a recovery from kidney cancer (and losing my right kidney) to show my kids that I was OK. Motocross helped me get through a year of recovery and training to do the 140.6 miles. At 11 months I did a 70.3 and that was more emotional than the 140.6 a month later. Motocross makes you TOUGH. I can't tell you how many times during training I would reflect back on my MX days, those hard races, those hot days battling on the last lap, the pure grit it takes to push you when you are hurting.
Possible to sum up? Or give an approx time?
"Everyone asks me...no secrets, really, I'm eating better, doing the same amount of training that I've ever done. No more training, no more riding, just straight up eating better."
He weighs 165lbs now, he weighed between 150-155 in his peak racing form. 150lbs in SX and 155lbs in MX. He defied Aldon a bit because he was too heavy at times in MX but RC knew his body and knew where he felt good.
My input, losing weight isn't hard, just takes discipline. Discipline is hard. When everyone wants to go out to eat it's hard to make smart decisions.
His interview itself is what was good.
