Repeat SX track designs

Keeping in mind that stadiums all share approximately the same configuration - flat and rectangular. Has there ever been an attempt to repeat exact track designs from previous races. Comment if you know for sure....

They attempted to remake Anaheim 1 from 2001 at one of the Anaheim races a few years back. It was a failure. A shadow of the original design with smaller, less technical jumps.

Didn’t they do an 80’s night a few years back when they tried to “replicate” the Anaheim track from 86?

what i don't understand is why they don't repeat the things that work and then try to refine those that didn't.
I'll be interested in Phoenix this year. Last years design made for great racing, would be nice if they just rebuilt it.

but, they'll probably do something completely different.
