So I've been out of the moto game for several years now. Use to ride in North Carolina growing up and in my early 20s. I'm thinking about for my next birthday (Not until October) renting a bike and either going out to a local track or maybe Glamis or Ocotillo.

Has anyone had any experience with renting a bike (250 or 450) somewhere in the area?

That's Kurt Nicoll's company.
A great dude.
Class act.
Still KICKS ASS on a motorcycle (Just smoked the 0-50 at Mammoth) & he shares The Stoke.

I know nothing about renting bikes, but I don't believe I could think of a business that would have more downside and liability that renting high powered, high maintenance dirt bikes to questionable people and cutting them loose and hoping they return alive with the bike in one piece and without a lawyer.

Is there actually people that do this?

Thanks for the info! That looks like overkill for what I was looking for however. I'm just looking for like 1 day of riding.

Renting a bike to go ride the local tracks is doable. Mx vacations or other people doing it. Desert I don’t know of any companies I’ve seen enough to trust

Do you know if local tracks rent out bikes? Or you have to go through a third party like Mx vacations?
