36% lighter than the Fatbar, with a huge mounting diameter.

Besides the downside of needing to also buy new mounts, this could be a pretty great bar. I guess Roczen just used it in St Louis.

Reminds me of the Easton bars 20 years ago. Required a larger mount also.

Excellent saving as a percentage of the original component weight, especially given it is the heaviest high part. It's value will be slightly eroded by a little extra weight required for the bigger mounts.
Probably quite cost efficient a way to save half a pound as well: costs about a grand per kilogram - 2.2 lbs- on most bikes using titanium, carbon fibre, CNC machining and so on.

I just don’t see this taking off in the moto world. MTB world is a different thing when counting ounces. Flex in comparison is purely a personal choice in moto. No added performance benefit. Surely composites will be the next wave of parts, but investing technology and time into a damn good alloy bar they already make 🤔. not sure about that.

I think that half a pound of weight at the highest point on the motorcycle is not trivial. Regarding flex, I assume it's not just about how much it flexes, but where it flexes. Given the shape, this will likely flex totally different than the Fatbar. I do not see myself shelling out about 150 bucks for a handlebar unless it gets rave reviews.

Regardless, it's nice to see them doing development and offering something new.

I love new products and innovation (36% lighter than the old Fatbar is impressive!) but going to a non-standard (7/8 or 28,6mm) mounting diameter is a huge risk. These bars will probably not work with my Xtrig PHDS mounts so i'm out.

They look and sound great but by time buy special mounts and the bars if paying retail your at 250 bucks, screw that lol, plus I really prefer to have some piece top bar clamp so shit doesn’t twist when falling over

You can get 2,5 Fatbars with price of one 36 plus will need new mountings. Its like Oakley airbrakes that you pay twice as much as any other goggles so not many will need them but will buy because Roczen or Herlings are using them.

Proprietary bullshit. Don’t fall for the hype. The mountain bike industry did it with 35mm handlebars while many pros still prefer the old standard 31.8mm.

You guys need to keep in mind this bar is marketed towards those who need that 1% extra. Its comparable to buying ti axles.

So were do you find the weights for the Renthal 7/8, Fatbar and Fatbar 36?

It's like exhaust systems they won't list the weights, just that they are lighter or my google skills suck.

Listened to the Pulp Renthal reaction show. I want to say Paul Perebijnos said it was 240 grams lighter then a fatbar.

Doesn’t matter to me at that price they can keep it. But I’m slow.

I already have a tough enough time getting a screwdriver in the right place at the right angle to make fork adjustments without marring up my adjustment screws.. This FATTER bar won’t help that situation.
Other than that I dig it.
