Going by the rules that they were stating, Renner should have gotten a run at that height with the gate moved back 5ft.

Sure there was. RC couldn't take another round and Renner could, so RC forfeit. Shouldn't have been a tie. Even if Renner wouldn't have cleared the bar, with no one else there he would have automatically won.

I agree 100% with you. They didn't even back it up 5 feet did they like Cameron said they would do? If RC didn't want to ride anymore, Renner should be wearing the lone gold medal.

Agreed. Seems like they were making up the rules as they went along. I think the fact that they were running 20 mins into Sportcenter had something to do with it also.

Renner got screwed last year or the year before too. They should have given him 5 more feet of run in and let him rip. IMO they were running pretty late at that point and needed to end the show rather than let it drag on.

2nd time Ronnie got robbed

Either last year or year before, it went to some stupid "sudden death" with first over winning, and the other guy got to go first, he cleared it and Ronnie was left holding his dick, didn't even get a chance to go and back it up by clearing it himself.
Other guy won and Ronnie wasn't even allowed to jump

Actually if this were based on the same rules as a track and field high jump event, RC would have won over Renner. In track and field the tie breaker is based upon which person had the least amounts of misses up to the point when both contestants cannot clear a height. Since Renner had more first misses than RC the gold would go to RC.

That's not the point.

1. The guy that he was competing with couldn't continue. When is that ever a tie?

2. He never got the chance to even try so how in the world do you know that he wasn't going to clear it? Simple answer is you don't. Like dude said, if they both miss the height they get an extra 5 feet, but it never got to that point because RC couldn't continue. See point #1.

This is actually the THIRD time RR has been screwed over. He lost out on the coin flip but before that he was left out of the event all together when he was the WFA champ. The WFA were the qualifiers they ran and he lead the step up points going into X only to have them decide they were having a smaller field and invite only. They had Metz and Deegan in (who have never done well in Step Up) but told RR he was out. He brought his bike to the floor and just sat there behind the rest of the riders in protest. It was 04 if I remember correctly.

Ronnie got robbed. BUT....... he's got a gold medal around his neck and has everyone else backing him AGAINST Ricky... That doesn't happen too often. I'm gonna go ahead and say that Ronnie is sportin a PLATINUM medal, situation being.

Plus, he can still show up at our local races and push his little brothers bike to the line and be the realest dude at the track.

Dave , that was at those Moto-X games in San Diego last year. Renner lost the coin flip to Buyten , they moved the start back 5 feet Buyten cleared it and was instantly declared the winner.

ESPN never tries to shorten any of their other sporting events if they go into O.T. or extra innings. They've been broadcasting this for 15 years now and every year the program goes into O.T.
