Well, Patrick at Rekluse came through and UPS brought one to me last night!!!
First of all, thanks to all of you who offered to help me out. That meant a lot to me and made me proud to be a part of this community.
So, now I'm installing the zStart Pro and I have a couple of questions about tuning. I plan to ride 1 gear higher than what is normal, until I get the shifter figured out. I'm not sure how to set this up for my style. Anybody out there who knows?
Okay, who's up for riding tomorrow in the soCal area? Friday, you burned out yet?
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Chris

Way to go Rekluse, proud owner of 3 systems.
The Shop
Since I was tinkering, I took the kickstarter apart to grease it. I was shocked at how much wear it had and the lack of grease. The bike only has 10 hours on it. The same was true for the brake pedal.
I'm 'super pumped' to see how it helps me. All I keep hearing about is corner speed!
MXER146: What's with the sig? lol. I guess I still have one foot so I'm qualified for MX, right?
My first hare scramble with it was the week before the MX race. It rained the night before I raced, it was a slippery rooted mess, and the Rekluse saved my ass on more than one occasion!
Rekluse Z-start Pro is the best after market product I have put on the bike!
I went trail riding today and tried out the clutch. It makes tricky hillclimbs look silly. I'm not kidding! I sold two of these things today to a couple of guys I let ride my bike. Who is it on Vital that is a Rekluse distributor? I need a contact number.
Tomorrow will be the true test. I'm going to Racetown 395 to pound out some laps.
I don't expect any different results as the Rekluse feels the same as a stock clutch at speed. The advantage is when you would normally downshift to get in the correct RPM range, with the Rekluse, you just leave it in the same gear and screw on the power.
If any of you wanna try out this clutch, meet up with me at a track and you can ride my bike. I'm dead serious! Rekluse helped me and this is the only way I can think of to repay them.
The clutch takes more getting used to on the track. I think my corner speed will be better once I'm used to it. I thought I would have issues with it going off jumps but that was not the case.
Speaking of casing...I came up short on that big jump at Racetown and broke my leg. The expensive one. The parts I broke are about $2500 but luckily they sponsor me. I landed hard enough to bend my pegs...the foot peg and the peg leg! Hahahaha.
so i take it you are not riding tomorrow? we are trying to figure out where to ride.
