Someone tried both the core 3.0 and the torq drive clutch and explain the difference between them?

Is it worth the 200 usd to upgrade my current core 3.0?

Just installed a cx in my YZ450F and had a core 3.0 in my 250xc.
The radius cx engages smoother and has a more consistent torque delivery.

I’ve had both. The Radius CX is a major improvement over the EXP 3.0, at least for moto. Much more positive engagement.

The radius uses the torq drive plates. The core uses oem plates. Adding extra plates offers durability, less heat, and a better power transfer. Smoother power and better modulation. Rekluse has really stepped it up with these kits. Every single radius CX we have sold or installed the customer absolutely loves.

I absolutely love the 3.0 on my crf and was also wondering if that was the way to go. Sounds like the cx next.

Had 3.0 in my 15'crf, always adjusting it to stop the excess slip...hated it.
Done 60hrs on CX in new crf, never had to adjust yet. These new ones feel just like manual clutch , I'm stoked I brought it, don't need no electric start with one of these in.

I bought a used ‘17 CRF450R and was ready to pull the trigger on the E start kit just before I got my Radius CX. I’m so glad I waited. Not only did I save hundreds of dollars, but I saved 5lbs, too!

Hate to pull an old thread but rather than starting another...

Is the exp 3.0 with torq drive plates essentially a cx?

Anyone have a 350sxf with one in it ? I feel like with the right set up it’s almost like cheating. Keeps ya from stalling in the last few corners when your arms are seized up and your fingers can’t work the clutch.

No they only work on adult bikes 450 and above.

Yeah I had the 3.0 and they updated it after I burnt a couple out. 3.0 is solid for someone who doesn’t abuse there clutch but 3.0 with more steels and fibers is bulletproof.

All I know is I had a 3.0 and now I have a CX, and it is night and day difference in hookup and power delivery. My 3.0 just had standard plates, however. If you’re buying one from scratch, the CX is the way to go.

I've been looking into a Rekluse and it seems you can update the 3.0 to a Radius by adding plates.

I had a 3.0 on my 16 350xcf. 400+hrs later and she still works like brand new, and I'm still on the OEM clutch plates.

I now have a Radius CX on my 19 350 and it's worked equally as good. I cannot say it's worked better though. The only real complaint I have is the DDC clutch on the 19 as I feel the engagement is not as progressive and has a more on/off feeling.

I had a 3.0 on my 16 350xcf. 400+hrs later despite everything she works like fresh out of the plastic new, I'm still on the OEM grip plates.

I currently have a Radius CX on my 19 350 and it's worked similarly as great. I can't state it's worked better however. The main genuine protest I have is the DDC grip on the 19 as I feel the commitment isn't as dynamic and has a more on/off inclination.
