When Matthes asked Reed about whether he'd be on a Kawi next year, he said it was out of his hands and didn't sound too confident about it happening. Wonder if he'll end up back at Suzuki, or maybe a Yamaha team like JGR. Honda doesn't seem too likely, since they seem to be going after the graduating 250 riders.

Sounds like he wants to keep racing both SX and MX for a few more years though, which is definitely cool.

Reed seems like the kind of guy who will put an offer on the table to get what he wants and wait to see who takes him up on it. Not a bad thing, but he might need to be a bit more flexible on salary, schedule requirements, team structure etc after this year. He's still one of the top 3 guys in the sport, but if he is looking for the same deal he got from Suzuki it might not be possible.

I just really hope he finds something that works well with his style because when Reed is comfortable on the bike, it just shows and he has one of the best styles out there when he is riding comfortably.

He won't have to......NC is for the Hansens and Grants.

Reed has his own compound and program that is proven. They won't be needing to babysit.

Why wouldn't Reed go to NC? I'd rather live there than in Florida and if the price is right...?

doubt it on the jgr thing seeing as he would have to get away from camp 22.

personally, i think a private deal on suzuki's would be good for him

If Reed is not on Kawi he will be on his own team on Suzukis with one or two upcoming Australians riding 250s.Subsidized by the Australian govt. and sponsored by Kraft Vegemite and The Wiggles(for Tate).

The green factory team has had a miserable 2010 !! I think 377 will take Reed's spot on Kawi and they will choose not to exercise the second year option with CR..IMO. I don't see any other team shoveling out the cash Reed seems to want. The only teams that would shell it out is a team with an outside sponsor to fill that gap. I dont think Honda would ever happen, certainly with Red Bull already on Stew's helmet, JGR is really the only option I could see happening if he isnt back with the Green machine. I personally think we may have seen Chad race his Last race state side.....but I dont know shit

I thought Suzuki let Reed go because they only had money to fund one guy and they chose Dungey. Not Reeds choice from what I understand.

Maybe good thing since there are rumors of Dungey not getting his bonus money.

Good points.
Why not a deal like McGrath/Chapparal had back in the day? Basically his own man/team. I mean, a mega sponsor like Monster or Rockstar on the side of his transport and ride whatever the heck he feels best on(Kawa or Suz-Yam whatever). Hey...he's got some money, and I think he's got great contacts for sponsors...
what do ya think?? (I'm sure he's pondering everything at this juncture) Btw, I love Chads style too! Between him and J Grant, they're the best styles IMO.

I've always thought a Reed/Honda combo would be pretty potent.
