Just said a prayer that he keeps racing. He has been great for the sport. Challenged MC, RC, and JS. Only rider to ever win straight up against all 3.

I just hope he does 1 one more year of SX.
I always hate when they retire without a farewell tour. Smile

I hope he doesn't quit, but if he does he's still had a fantastic career.

I wonder if he's pulling a MC to get out of his Kawi contract...

Would be a result if he rode SX only.

Is it just me or is this all utterly strange? Especially after he drove a hard bargain with Kawasaki for good $$. I mean, one week he nearly straight up beat Dungey, next week, well, we all know the rest of the story.

If he was going to keep racing then what would he have to announce? I hope it's not bad news. But if so I understand. New kid, still healthy, lots of close calls, don't need money, lot of guys going down lately, incredible career.

I wonder how he will be making this announcement? Is he doing an interview or something surely if it's big news it won't be twitter message.

Something hasn't been right all year. Whatever it is if he can't get it resolved then stepping aside may be the best choice. The people who give him credit for being one of the 20 or 30 of the all time greats and one of the top 3 of his era already have, those who refuse never will.

This always amazes me.

In this day and age with microscopes and telescopes....not to mention the self-centerdness of it.

True, what would he have to announce unless its to pull out of the MX series? Well how about a return to his home country and racing V8 super cars? He's paid his dues and more, i hope he does what makes him happySmile

I heard he was holding a press conference that will be about an hour long and at the end of the hour he will tell everyone what his decision will be.

Going to be broadcast live via the internet.

Is it the best choice for the team that paid millions and invested in him heavily for a full season? Kawi really got the short end of this stick.

Hope for the sport that he still races 1 more year of SX but will be happy for him if he can join Rally USA and Nascar in the near future.

Kawasaki is used to it. Are you as worried about Yamaha?

I think he's going to announce an ailment that he has been keeping on the DL and retire. Just my 2 cents. Whatever happens he's an amazing rider had one helluva a career.

He and Ellie left Australia as kids to travel the world and chase his motocross dream. I greatly admire that and I'm glad I was able to witness his time on a bike no matter what his announcement is later.

Well I was close. I'm happy that I was only half right, that he's not retiring and that it's nothing too serious. Get better soon Mr. Reed
