Haven't been on here much, but just saw the results at Paris and Reed didn't do so great. Won't have a long discussion on this, rumor I last saw on here (vital) is that Reed is trying to qualify for A1, his 250th main and then he will walk away.

Right now I'm leaning more towards No. I have a lot of respect for Chad, but it's not fun seeing an icon of the sport struggle to make mains.

Does Reed even qualify for A1

He was in pretty good spirits about it, he has had minimal time on the bike, but all things considered he looked pretty good out there... His superpole times were ok.
He will be fine come A1.. it’s Chad Reed remember.

He qualifies and finishes 17th in the main.

Actually I thought he looked great at Paris.

If this poll was conducted in 2029, I'd be on the fence. But for 2020, after a pretty successful year? Chad Freaking Reed? Yeah, he can qualify for a main event.

It's hard to doubt Reed at any point in his career. Look at some of the guys squeaking into main events, Reed at 50 can still hang with those guys.

He's having trouble at 37, don't go crazy.

Qualifying isn’t Reeds problem. He’s Just can’t hang with the youngsters in the main anymore...especially if he blows the start. Fact of life...and age.

Qualifies easily.. As far as results go its hard to say, he may just go out there and have fun and show boat a bit and hang up the mx boots immediately after.

Your really fucking doubting if a guy who got a podium last year can qualify for the main? You spelled Ronnie Ford wrong. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

|

Last year he got a podium and was inside the top 10 in half the races he did.
He's not going to win but I'd say he qualifies easily

Easily a top 10 guy still when he doesn't crash in a main. This is one of the polls that is comical.

Ryan villopoto is a 4x sx champ and there was a race or 2 he straight up rode like shit and didnt qualify. Anything can happen to anyone.

I think reed will be fine.

People have short memories!
Just a few months ago the guy was regularly inside the top ten and even bagged a podium- now we’re saying he can’t make a main?! WTF are you on??

The real question here is not "does a prepared Chad Reed have the ability to make the main at A1?"... its "Will Chad Reed be prepared for A1?"

I personally don't really care for him but, feelings aside, he hung around mid pack all year last year and had a podium. 1 year of aging is not going to be the difference between those results and not making the show.

Here's to feeling good all the time

It's a bummer he's only doing A1 then peacing out. I was hoping to see him in ATL one last time.

The interviews with Matthes and Lewis from MX Vice post-Paris were not 100% confirmation that he is riding A1 only. He put it at 50-50 whether he rides the whole season. I too am hoping to see him one or two more times, but I can't make A1 this year. I was at Seattle last year, and when that incident happened right in front of us I thought "well that might be it". Hopeful I can get to Phoenix and Seattle in 2020.

Gonna miss him when he's gone. Hope he can do the whole season.

If he gets a top 5 start, he will stay with the front runners for most of the race out of pure stubbornness

You must mean he crashed? RV at probably 60% would get in no problem
