Dunno... I did see a while back he posted he thought the 17 CRF looked bitching and the 16 is meant to be waaaay better too... Who the fuck knows with that guy. Transmoto is Wigan and Reed and him have had their ups and downs, so god knows if the source is good or even direct.

It's not october yet so I wouldn't expect anything to be sorted, but I'd probably rather see him on a Honda to be honest. He's always been better on the flickable/lighter bikes...

Wouldn't surprise me. As picky as he is about bikes that Yamaha seems like the least likely out of the current crop he would want to ride. Like crush said. He likes flickable bikes. Well I'm sure they all do. But for him comfort is very crucial to his success. He's not like Barcia and will ride the fuck out of whatever they put him on!

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him show up with HRC Honda and all the same with factory Yamaha. Dudes on the tail end of a solid career and he didn't get there making bad decisions. Where ever he ends up will probably be what suits him best.

He might have to start his own team, again. He may run a privateer effort with a YZ and a box van.

Reed is the master of the silly season media-stir. He does it practically every year, doesn't he? I can't blame the guy really. A man has to keep his name in the press, and our sport is so small that questions about what Chad Reed will ride for 2016 won't exactly show up on the Fox Sports headlines.

Heck, Andrew Short showed the SX world what he could do with a fairly stock CRF450 a while back...so stands to reason that Reed could do as well or probably better than Shorty with a better supply of factory parts.

i wouldnt put it past him. Reed will ultimately go where ever he can get paid at this point. and I dont really see yamaha coming back now. I mean they havent really had an interest in running a full effort since 2006 and they have enough teams running Yamaha's that they dont have to spend the money themselves and their bikes are doing well.

in the event Yamaha Factory does come back, it would be with the intention of retaining Webb for his 450 transition as well as J Mart's while keeping Reed to groom the rookies and develop the bike

Chad is a lot of things...but he's not stupid. But for him to have even looked at Yamaha closely enough to even spend time on the bike is proof positive that the bike has come a long way since he rode one...and wrote it completely off several years ago.

Doubt it. It's believed that Monster offered Yamaha a couple million dollars for the Reed deal. Reed also bringing Discount Tire but no word on how much DT offered to the team. I bet the contract is held up with Yamaha Lawyers for review and/or contract writing.

SX only is a tough deal in 2016 as it turns out. Reed will continue to live the ultimate life even if he does not find a ride. Don't get to misty for the guy. He is a millionaire.
