Redbud was the first motocross race I’ve photographed since 2009, and honestly I’ve only had my new camera since the end of February this year and it’s felt like starting from scratch in a lot of ways- just long overdue…anyway, for me personally I enjoyed it very much… it took me back to the roots of why I love photography so much (and motocross for that matter) so without further ado here is what I was able to get from the perspective of a fan, I realize there’s some repetitions here but I hope you enjoy Smile

Thank you !! Great photos!!

Your images really show how steep the jumps are. Tomac under the banner and Hammaker are standouts in a great collection.

Camera & lens deets please !!!

That one of Tomac sending it off the take off and Jett with the dark background are epic!

Thank you - all of these were shot from the crowd with my Nikon Z9 and 400 2.8 G lens (rental) mounted with the FTZ2 adapter … the sole exception is the wide angle crowd shot with the 14-24 2.8 Z

Thanks… the shot of Jett is my first attempt at masking layers in LR, it’s actually the tabletop that connects the back section to the front. I wanted to create the feeling of the phoenix SX when they open the dome and that shaft of light comes in… or something like that, glad you like it Smile

How do you like the Z9? I’ve got the rival of that, the Sony A1 and absolutely love it.

It’s a great camera, it’s not as perfect as my old F5’s were but for a mirrorless/digital it is exceedingly better than any body in that classification that I’ve owned D2H D2X D300 etc

Thanks Doogan, I’d have liked more variety but lack of sleep and 95° wore my old ass out, I didn’t shoot the 2nd motos… walking the water truck aisles when I was credentialed is a helluva lot easier than working in the crowd that’s for sure, glad ya dig em 👍

Did Stanton put in a hot lap on his CR250?
Anyone have a video clip on him?

It wasn’t a hot lap, just a parade lap…

Great photos! So clean and sharp! You can appreciate moto so much more from ground level sometimes.
