On pulp Steve hinted at a major bomb when he said Redbull was gonna make a video with James. Supposedly he was gonna ride a 2 stroke, 4 and an Alta. Red Bull and others drove quite a ways to meet him and he no showed!?! That doesn't sound good or cool. This sucks

What show was that mentioned on? I hadn't heard anything about it but I am sure there is more to it then just what Matthes mentioned. JS7 on a 2 stroke just seems to far fetched. I would think if and when he makes a appearance/ come back he would want to be on the best 450 he could to achieve the best results.

Support rig with bikes, parts and technicians would be my guess. I can definitely see them wanting all hands on deck for a Red Bull video; especially one with when the most polarizing rider in the world riding their machine. Wouldn't doubt their rig would've been shown in the video too. Sounds like a highly anticipated marketing milestone for the company that likely left some people fuming mad, if all this is true... ^^^^I get that, but what would they be bringing that they couldn't get at a much closer dealer? It just seems extremely ineffecient when they could fly in, ship proprietary equipment,rent a "rig", pick up bikes, parts, technicians, etc.

My point really is, maybe what was thought to be the case was something different (not as big of a deal). Like, maybe it was just an Alta thing. Is Alta/Red Bull different than Red Bull proper? Im not defending Stewart in any way, just saying maybe we don't have the whole/real story.

he's uhh... worthless at this point. I mean come on, if this was literally any relevant sport, he would have the same negative connotation as Brett Favre going to the Jets, Allen Iverson in Detroit or Fernando Alonso at McLaren Honda (still).. Cannot argue what he's done in the past, he changed the game forever, BUT looking forward.. one would assume would retain a solid ambassadorship with some brand other than his sinking ship

I hear ya, I agree with the whole maybe we don't have the whole story / maybe it's being blown out of proportion thing..... but did you listen to what Steve said, and how he said it? Just seemed like some pretty sincere comments.

But yes, I'd imagine it was definitely not just Red Bull proper. Alta is still very much so a fringe brand, not to mention a fringe technology. The moto world would collectively shit their pants if a Red Bull video of JS7 shredding an Alta dropped. If this video was seriously supposed to go down, it would've been the equivalent of a Budweiser Clydesdale super bowl commercial for Alta's marketing campaign... plus I doubt any of the half dozen of so Alta dealers on the entire east coast have an Alta support rig worth showing off in a video of this importance in magnitude to establishing brand legitimacy to the public

Yeah, I listened to it. Thats what made me think it could be a different story. Stream of consciousness conversations sometimes dont take into consideration details (not on purpose, more of a flow issue). Just the nature of the beast.

But, who knows, and Im not really even disagreeing with you. You could be totally spot on. Just presenting alternative ideas. Regardless, its not a good look for Stewart
